It is amazing that the author found a publisher for this material. The "ideas" range from basic advise that you get in ANY article or book on weight loss (eat less, exercise more) to the ridiculous. Examples of the latter include the recommendation to sleep in one's workout clothes to facilitate morning exercise, and eating on dark colored plates as it...

I can't tell you how much money and personal emotion I've wasted on the new high protein and low sugar diet books that everyone is buying now. These scam books all enabled me to drop about 10 pounds, but then I'd gain it all back and end up depressed and miserable. Thank God for 1001 Simple Ways to Lose Weight! It is slower going at the start, but after a few weeks you really do start to lose lots of weight. You pick and chose strategies that you like and then you slowly make them part of your daily routine and it's the ONLY thing that really does work! I lost over 90 pounds and have kept it off for a year now. I can't tell you how happy and healthy and energetic I now feel. If you're truly serious about losing your weight forever, then look no further than this awesome book.

This book works. It works for health. It works for losing weight. It works for keeping the weight off. It worked for me because it enabled me to customize my own plan that was right for me. It didn't just tell me what to do whether I liked it or not. I lost over 100 pounds using this nifty little book and I highly recommend it to anyone who has tried and failed to lose weight with other books or products. It really does work!

Clearly the person who wrote the negative earlier review never even bothered to read this book! I'm so glad I ignored him or her and ordered it. The book only has 50 recipes and the rest of it is loaded with super ideas that really work. I just started using the ideas a few at a time and the weight started to come off...I've tried for years to lose and now all of a sudden it's easy and it's really happening. I can't tell you how much this book helped me, and what's really great is I'm not only losing weight but I'm also improving my health. The new high-protein diets let you lose weight, but at the cost of clogged arteries and more risk for stroke and cancer and stuff.

I've got this book while in the process of losing 73 pounds. At times when I needed a lift or suggestion, this book reminded me of the little things that I could do to increase my exercise, eat better or motivate myself. At times the suggestions may seem simplistic, but sometimes we need that depending on what's going in our lives. I have to give this book credit for helping me with regularly exercising. (And yes, I did sleep with my gym socks on to get me going to the gym in the morning at 6am!) It gives you positive studies points of view and hints. If you're new at losing weight and need some suggestions from eating, exercising, to feeling better about yourself along the way, I'd recommend this book. It's not a weight loss program but an excellent companion book for those on some kind of a program. It's well organized by different problems facing an overweight person. I'm still looking through it a year later!

If you're serious about losing your blubber thighs once and for all, then this simple but fantastic book is for you. I think I've been under the false impression that only big super complex ideas could help me lose weight, and in the process I overlooked the simple things that REALLY DO WORK. It takes some time to start losing with this book, but once you do lose it it's off forever. I've kept the weight I lost with this book off for over 18 months now and that's the first time that's ever happened. Buy this book and give it a SERIOUS try, you'll be glad you did!

It is amazing that the author found a publisher for this material. The "ideas" range from basic advise that you get in ANY article or book on weight loss (eat less, exercise more) to the ridiculous. Examples of the latter include the recommendation to sleep in one's workout clothes to facilitate morning exercise, and eating on dark colored plates as it supposedly promotes fullness! A great many of the 1001 ideas are low fat recipes. Not why I bought the book. It is the first book I ever returned to amazon.com (and I buy a lot of them). Anyone looking for new ways to get motivated, stay motivated or viable weight loss techniques will be severely disappointed!

That should be the title of this terrific book. Sure I've lost weight with other books and programs, but I've never been able to keep it off until I read this book. It's simple, staightforward, to the point, and honest. There's nothing fancy or weird about it. It just states the facts and if you follow them you lose lots of weight once and for all. A must buy!

Girls, all I can say is this book just works. I lost 28 pounds, feel great, and I owe it all to this book. Sure it's simple and you're probably aware of many of these ideas as I was, but have you ever done anything about it? I finally did something about it and it worked.

Well, the search has ended. This is the one. Basic good advice, no gimmicks or promises of quick weight loss, but I like the tips, and the five steps, and well, just everything about this book. It lets me know that this will take time, and there is no magic formula (as if I didn't already know that!). It's just such plain good common sense, in print. Small changes in your lifestyle are the key, and I know this is right. Buy it, follow it and all will be well. And no, I have no connections to the author or publisher. Just someone who's been trying to do this since forever, at least 30 years.
