Very Creative Book,
By SLB "kids bookaholic" (Illinois, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 1001 Stories (Hardcover)
I bought this for my three-and-a-half-year-old son the other day and he really thought it was clever. He's usually into train books, so it's hard to find books sometimes on other topics that captivate him. He doesn't know all of the stories upon which the book is based (three pigs, hansel and gretel, red riding hood, three bears, snow white, to name a few), but the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure format is really appealing, and often very funny. The illustrations are gorgeous--I plan to purchase more books by this inventive author.

Entertaining Read!,
This review is from: 1001 Stories (Hardcover)
Do you love Hansel and Gretel, The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and the Seven Dwarves? Have you ever wondered what the story would sound like if you combined them? Readers of Once Upon 1001 Stories can mix and match their favorite fairy tales to come up with...well...1001 possibilities! At the bottom of each spread, the reader is asked to make a decision--which directs the reader to a new page. With each turn of the page, a new story unfolds, resulting in a unique reading experience each time.
When I read this book most recently, Little Red Riding Hood met up with the Three Bears, met an ugly frog and then the Big Bad Wolf. This time, the Big Bad Wolf didn't eat her--he ran off to huff and puff and blow a house down!

This book is amazing. Both my 2-year old and 4-year old love for me to sit and read this to them. Each time it is read, a new story can be followed so it easily keeps their attention span. The illustrations are bright, colorful and of good quality. This is a must-have for every preschooler bookshelf.
