Tara Crooks is a 13-year military spouse known for her ability to inspire and empower. She is co-founder of Army Wife Network, a national motivational speaker, talk radio host, and enthusiastic volunteer. She and her husband Kevin have two daughters.


Starlett Henderson is a military veteran and National Guard spouse of 16 years.
Her desire to counsel and uplift military families drives her as Army Wife Network's co-founder, speaker, and talk radio host.
Star and her husband have two children.


Kathie Hightower is a military spouse of 32 years.
She's retired from the Army Reserves; her husband is retired Army.
An author and international speaker, Kathie's inspirational programs encourage corporate and military audiences to access possibilities and "Jump into Life."



Holly Scherer is an awarded community leader and military spouse of 27 years. She's an author, columnist, and international speaker encouraging and enabling her audiences to live life "Now, not When." Her husband is retired Army; they have two teenagers.

What a beautiful book! The authors have managed to truly cover 1001 benefits that accompany the sacrifices of military life. I love how they incorporate views from both service members and their families. Uplifting, humorous, poignant all in an easy to read format that includes spaces to add your own experiences and memories. Great gift for active, retired or families of men and women in any branch of the military.

This book is a treasure for anyone associated with the military! I originally bought it for my own family, though my husband retired in 2003. Today I am back to buy three more copies, one copy for my school nurse, whose son is a newly enlisted Marine, one copy for a friend whose son will go to Paris Island in June, and one copy for a dear friend whose husband is a two star general officer. This book is for everyone who is touched by the wonderful life that is military life!

The authors and contributors have done an incredible job sharing personal stories, resources and photographs that highlight the things that make military life so rewarding, amazing, and at times humorous. One of my favorite parts, they even left room for us readers to add our own favorite things! This book will certainly become a keepsake for our military family.
