What a beautiful book! The authors have managed to truly cover 1001 benefits that accompany the sacrifices of military life. I love how they incorporate views from both service members and their families. Uplifting, humorous, poignant all in an easy to read format that includes spaces to add your own experiences and memories. Great gift for active, retired or families of men and women in any branch of the military.

This book is a treasure for anyone associated with the military! I originally bought it for my own family, though my husband retired in 2003. Today I am back to buy three more copies, one copy for my school nurse, whose son is a newly enlisted Marine, one copy for a friend whose son will go to Paris Island in June, and one copy for a dear friend whose husband is a two star general officer. This book is for everyone who is touched by the wonderful life that is military life!

1001 Things to Love About Military Life [...] features a unique list of things to be grateful or thankful for both small and big! The authors and contributors have done an incredible job sharing personal stories, resources and photographs that highlight the things that make military life so rewarding, amazing, and at times humorous. One of my favorite parts, they even left room for us readers to add our own favorite things! This book will certainly become a keepsake for our military family.

This book is wonderful for many reasons. It is beautifully done, but what I like most is how it shines a light on the families of our military personnel. When one family member serves, the whole family serves! If you have a loved one in the military, you should buy this book for them. If you know someone who has a family member in the military, you should buy this book for them! It would be a great Christmas gift! It is enjoyable and inspirational reading!

I have been a proud Army wife for twenty-five years and this wonderful book evoked scads of memories of events and places that I have treasured over the years! The authors extensive research has produced a book that will warm the hearts of those that are living the military life and clue in those who are not as to why we do what we do. I am grateful for their efforts and humbled by their service to us all.

There are lots of times that life for military families is hard. But, for many of us, this is a way of life that we love and we can't imagine living another way. As a former Marine brat, a former Army officer, and now a Coast Guard wife, I have experienced this crazy life in just about any way imaginable. This book captures so well why I enjoy this lifestyle so much, despite the hardships and sacrifices. It will bring back fun and happy memories for those who are connected to military life and can explain why we love it to those without the connection.

A wonderful read and a great book to give as a gift!

In a time when plenty is going wrong in the world (is there ever a time when there isn't?) and even plenty to complain about in military life, along comes this book to remind us why this life of service to our country is worthwhile -- even with the hardships and pitfalls of serving Uncle Sam.
The authors' exhaustive research is evident. They have covered so many aspects of life in the armed forces, from the inside out. On every page I find reminders of things to be thankful for in the life I live as a military wife.
Thank you Holly, Kathie, Tara and Star for reminding me why I chose it and why I would do it all over again!

We all know military life can be and is tough, for all involved and affected by it, but this book reminds us of the fun things, the not so often thought of things, and the things that keep us living this military life. It brings back fond memories, laugh out loud reminders and puts a smile on your face, especially if you are passing the book back and forth reading out loud this number or that number with your soldier!

A perfect gift for any military family or anyone you know that supports and loves the military! A huge thank you to the authors and their families for a wonderful and well written book.
