Format: Paperback
This book contains some of the best material to stimulate young minds. It will challenge their sight and memory as they look over these excellent illustrations in search of the objects in the list. While their scanners are active, the children will also learn a bit of the science of the sea, as they are required to identify objects found in and hear the oceans of the world.
The images are:

*) Open sea - a selection of what can be seen some distance away from land
*) Water sports - what you can see on a recreational ocean beach
*) Icy north - the creatures that can be found on the ice pack of the north
*) Coral reef - a sample of the creatures that can be found on the coral reefs
*) By the seashore - what you can see on a sand beach
*) Underwater forest - a sampling of what can be found in the shallow water near the land
*) On a cruise - a demonstration of some of the activity that takes place on a cruise ship
*) Deep down - a sampling of the creatures found in the deepest of ocean waters
*) Sea village - a demonstration of the activity that take place in a village on stilts at the edge of the ocean
*) Lost city - the activity associated with an underwater archeological site
*) Chilly south - a sample of the wildlife found in the area around Antarctica
*) Grassy seabed - a sample of the very shallow seawater ecosystem
*) Shipwreck - an example of divers exploring a ship at the bottom of the ocean

Brief answers are included at the end, although they probably will not be of any assistance.

This is a great book for kids who aren't able to read yet. Having pictures of the objects to find at the bottom of each page is just great. My 4 year old gets very frustrated with the I Spy books, because he isn't able to read the lists of objects to find. With these books he doesn't need to read and feels like a Big Kid because he can work on the book all by himself!

This book proved to be very helpful during "down time" for my otherwise very active four year old grandson and almost three year old cousin. I presented them with the book while we were on vacation at the beach. They spent most their quiet moments pouring over each page asking, "What's this?" when they wanted to know more about a specific creature.
I must agree with other reviews that stated that this "Where's Waldo" type book is geared toward the youngest of inquiring minds. The illustrations are pleasant to look at, realistic in nature and the pages are not overly cluttered.
My grandson is an animal lover and I plan on purchasing the other books in this series. As a former librarian to young children, I would highly reccommed this series to parents and teachers of young children who have an interest in animals and animal life.

This is our 3 year old's favorite book. We read it cover to cover every night before bed. He loves to find all of the sea creatures and the ecotourist Billy on every page. As he gets older, there are other skills to explore, such as finding ALL of the polar bears, etc. on each page (right now we just find one of each specimen). Can't recommend this highly enough! It's fun for everyone.

This is one of my 3 year old Grandnephews favorite books ... we take him to a place where he feeds the fish and looks for little crabs, so when we saw this book, it was perfect ! Every time he comes to our home, he goes for the 1001 Things to Spot books, they make more then just this one, which he also has, but in this one he finds the crabs, not just one kind, but many different kinds of crabs ! He loves to court how many he can find and he never gets tired of the fun he has when we read it together.
The book is very colorful and detailed. It is made very well with quality paper and beautiful color !
I would recommend this book, it's amazing !
Thank you,
Chris
