I found this book at the library and thought I'd check it out (pardon the pun) and glad that I did. Since I am fairly active on an online diabetic support group, [...], I felt that having access to the information provided by the American Diabetes Association would be credible enough to share with my online friends. The book was written in a clear, straight-forward question and answer style format that is easy to find just the right answers for yourself or others on a disease which affects millions of Americans who are prone to the condition, pre-diabetic, Type I or Type II. The information covers topics such as weight loss, nutrition, glucose control, exercise, complications and so much more. You'll find answers to such questions as "Is it safe for me to use birth control pills if I have diabetes?," "I would like to start an exercise program, Do I need to adjust the dose of my medication if I exercise?," and "How does fast food figure into my weight management?." Don't be shelfish ... plan on sharing this book and its information with others. This would make a fantastic gift idea for diabetic family and friends.

I like the format of this book. It is easy to read and good for reference. The book answers a lot of common questions about diet, etc. It is in a Q & A format, which I found to be very good and is put out by the ADA.
