4.0 out of 5 stars A WORTHY READ..., August 8, 2009
This review is from: $100K to Nothing: Layoff:My journey from a six figure income to the unemployment line in the worst economy of our time (Paperback)
I found Dan's book a profound and detailed tome on today's world. One can only hope the book will be read by youngsters just beginning to experience life as adults. Dan speaks to a large audience who take top salaries as a mark of success. Large lesson is taught in this book... Mae Durden-Nelson

5.0 out of 5 stars Must-Read for anyone struggling financially during this global recession!, July 2, 2009
This review is from: $100K to Nothing: Layoff:My journey from a six figure income to the unemployment line in the worst economy of our time (Paperback)
Mr. Holt has put together a story of how his life was completely changed after being laid off. This is a heartbreaking story that the author managed to turn into a learning experience for other people to help them cope with the shock of losing their job, and all of the unexpected things that one must deal with when this happens in their life.

The author touches on professional items such as coping with the grief during your last days at the employer, leaving your job with class, and interviewing tips for your job search. He also touches on financial issues such as the pros and cons of owning versus renting during hard times, the advantages of budgeting, and issues like cash reserves (which most people do not think about until it is too late).

As someone who has an MBA, and has been in the business world for just over 10 years, I have witnessed dozens of co-workers be laid off or fired. Each and every time, they seemed to be in unfamiliar territory for the first time in their entire adult life, and had no idea what to do next. If you are worried about losing your job, or have recently lost your job, this is a fantastic book for you. It will literally provide some direction in your journey back to a successful career.

Good luck to all those who are in a position to need this book. Things will work out in the end, they always do. But, owning this book might make them work out a little smoother and a little faster. Enjoy!
