This will do the job for a while. However, overheating may be a significant risk for some.

It's great for a replacement or spare power adapter. However, it does become dangerously hot. This not only poses a risk of fire or meltdown damage, but is also an indicator that the item will not function for very long. Capacitors (little electronic components inside the unit) are relatively sensitive to excessive heat. Over time, overheated capacitors will begin to bulge, sometimes bursting, and will cease to function.

Surprisingly, power adapter overheating is common for these cheap replacements. Although, actively charging for short periods, less than 15 minutes or so, these adapters may never overheat. And, for those who typically leave their batteries continuously charging, an occasional overheating may be an acceptable risk. Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately), I am one of those individuals. I know... I know... I shouldn't leave it plugged in all of the time. But, it's such a hassle to have to plug it in after every full charge and to unplug every other couple of hours.

Contrary to the picture for this item at the time of this writing, the unit does not have the grip ribs on the sides nor a straight plug. I doubt the ribs will matter to anyone. However, the angled plug that comes with this unit has been known to cause problems. Angled plugs may seem like a good idea to prevent accidental disconnects. However, it takes surprisingly little force to damage laptop power jacks. And, newer laptops have the jacks integrated (hardwired) into the motherboard, leaving them non-replaceable. Such is the case with my wife's laptop with a now damaged power jack.

It is also worthy to note that the adapter did come with the separate power cable.

This product I got for my godson who's adapter was eaten up by the family pet. His netbook had been in his room for months because he could nor charge his netbook. He found the adapter at Amazon, and I ordered it, it came quick, and i now have a happy camper!

My Toshiba lap top adapter had loose contact.This adapter is very good product for the price. Why cant Toshiba change the design of the original adapter so that it fits well?

Ordered the new charger it was shipped fast I had within 5 days with standard shipping. The charger works great with my toshiba can't beat it for $10 alot cheaper than ordering one from toshibas website.

The first charger i got stopped working after 6 months. however, ebundle was extremely helpful and changed the charger really quickly! the new charger is still working!good customer service!

Quality control on these cheap replacement chargers is very poor it seems. As with most/all laptop chargers, this one had two pieces - the half of the cord with the power pack and the other half with the cord that plugs into the power pack. On this one, the half of the cord that plugs into the power pack itself was deformed from the factory and would not plug in to the power pack no matter what I did. If I hadn't kept the old charger that had stopped working, I would have been another week or two without a charger after paying expedited shipping for this one! Instead, I got creative and used the cord from my old charger. Since the part that had gone bad on my old charger was the power pack, the old cord worked with the new power pack. In other words, I had to supply half of this item from another source just to get it to work. VERY poor quality!

If you simply need a backup charger and you have time to spend on returning it if necessary, then this is a very economical option and may be viable for you. However, if you are like me and were entirely without your laptop and anxiously waiting for a new charger to arrive in order to be able to use your computer again, then you should consider shopping around for other higher quality options to reduce the chance that you will have to return it and wait additional weeks to get a working unit.

Power cord powers my Toshiba laptop, that's all I wanted so I'm happy. However the only set back was this cord was considerably shorter than my original cord (that's what she said or he said). So my portability is less than before but my laptop works now.

This product works fine except the AC cord is short. Another words, the cord from AC outlet to adapter is much shorter that what comes with Toshiba Laptop. This is important as in most cases access to AC outlet is far away and this is inconvenient at times. Also, since this is recommended for Toshiba Laptop, 4.74A (Output Current)is excessive as it only needs 3.95A.

This product stopped working for me within the first month that I bought it. Luckily I was able to return it for a refund. I would not buy this product from this seller ever again.
