5.0 out of 5 stars All the things you thought you had covered!
You have your will written, you have taken care of your kids, your spouse, your family, you are all set, right? Wrong! Read Herb Nass's book and you will find all the things that have slipped through the cracks. Young, old, rich or not so rich, you need to educate yourself on how to protect your estate and protect your family. My biggest concern is that when I am gone...

1.0 out of 5 stars More about famous people than anything else.
Basically this is a show off book about famous people he has advised and famous wills he has studied. Maybe ten are slightly relevant. Mistake # 89 Leaving it all to your girlfriend who has a drug addiction. Mistake #86 Not making charitable gifts in your will when your sons are heirs to the British throne. Mistake # 93 Murdering your spouse. Not much practical advice...

5.0 out of 5 stars All the things you thought you had covered!, April 2, 2010
This review is from: The 101 Biggest Estate Planning Mistakes (Paperback)
You have your will written, you have taken care of your kids, your spouse, your family, you are all set, right? Wrong! Read Herb Nass's book and you will find all the things that have slipped through the cracks. Young, old, rich or not so rich, you need to educate yourself on how to protect your estate and protect your family. My biggest concern is that when I am gone that there is peace in my family and that my children remain close and good friends, Nass's book give you all the things you need to cover in your will to make sure your wishes are carried out.

Herb Nass is a first-rate authority on matters of estate planning. Impressed with his credentials. This book is a must-read whether attending to these very important matters yourself or with a professional advisor. A helpful guide that steered me clear of common mistakes and ensured I am on the proper path to wealth preservation. Loved the anecdotes. Written in a way that I could reduce complex matters to more simple prescriptions for success. Without insulting my intelligence. My kids have already thanked me.

I don't think this is a replacement for using an attorney to plan your estate matters, however, I truly think this had me prepared with any questions I might have when I set up the appointment. It's well worth the money to check this out BEFORE you spend all the money on the attorney fees.

It's thought provoking and suggests things to consider that you might not otherwise think about. I would recommend it if you are planning to set up any kind of estate trust matters.

5.0 out of 5 stars mistake 102 not reading this book, December 13, 2009

This book has great tips about dos and don'ts. I realized after reading it that I better hustle to change my daughter's guardians. The ones named in my will have been divorced for 5 years and we are barely speaking. Nass makes plenty of other points that hit home.

Mistake # 89 Leaving it all to your girlfriend who has a drug addiction. Mistake #86 Not making charitable gifts in your will when your sons are heirs to the British throne. Mistake # 93 Murdering your spouse. Not much practical advice. The real commonsense suggestions could have been contained in an article listing ten things about writing a will. Save your money and read some articles from financial websites for free.

If you are interested in estate planning, Herbert E. Nass succeeds at writing an entertaining and informative book on this specific subject. In addition, Nass provides great informative detail for the knowledge needed to surpass the novice understanding in this subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and entertaining read., January 12, 2012
This review is from: The 101 Biggest Estate Planning Mistakes (Paperback)
I found this book to be not only extremely interesting, but helpful as well. Many times I have come across a publication that tries to provide insightful information, but fails by being painfully boring, where completing the book becomes a chore. I felt I was not only given a plethora of information on the topic of estate planning, but I also enjoyed the read. Providing advice, by detailing the failures of others, not only sheds light on how easily mistakes can be made, but also makes the read something I was not able to put down. I applaud Herbert E. Nass for his work, and I hope to see more in the near future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Its an Easy Read, March 8, 2011

Estate Planning is a subject perhaps too steeped in mountains of paperwork and legalese. This author made the reading entertaining and discusses, albeit somewhat superficially, the more common mistakes when creating an estate plan. It was short and entertaining. Not to mention the voyeuristic aspect of learning about (and reading) excerpts of famous people's wills.

I wouldn't say its a must-have, but I would say its worth the price and you'd be a little more educated about the subject because of it.
