I'm a porcelain dollmaker, and I was very curious about this book, so I ordered a copy, even though I thought that $20.00 (and no discount) was a pretty steep price, based upon the prices of other doll costuming books that I've purchased. The first thing that I noticed about it is that although it was advertised as a spiral-bound book, in fact it is just a plain old booklet of folded sheets of paper, stapled down the middle. Second, the type in the booklet is so large that there is really only about 20 pages of information in it, even though it is 53 pages long. There are a few 18" doll bodice patterns in the back of the book, and a chart to help you adjust the patterns for dolls of other sizes, but I have seen the same information elsewhere. If you are serious about making doll clothes, and you want a really useful book of doll patterns, buy Venus Dodge's book The Doll's Dressmaker: The Complete Pattern Book. It has many, many more ideas, patterns sizes, and styles, an it costs less.

If you are a doll maker this is a "must have" bookfor you. The ideas that you can get from this book are endless andeasy to understand. You can design dresses from simple to complex. This is a user friendly book for the beginner or the more advanced doll maker.

If you design your own clothes it would also be an extremely valuable book to own.

You won't be disappointed.

What an informative little jewel of a book! I have looked everywhere for bodice design ideas and came up dry. Julie knows what doll clothes creators, mothers, and creative sewers needed. The directions are clear and the patterms are wonderful. Thank you, Amazon, for making this available.

I use this book as a main tool in designing and getting ideas for my doll clothes. It is invaluable to me and so full of ideas. The possibilities are endless. I love this book and highly reccommend it to anyone who does lots of dressmaking for dolls, children and adults. It is written for beginner, intermediate, and advance sewers and so easy to use. I am so glad I got this book and I'm sure others will love it as much as I do.......

Reading this book will give you so much inspiration you'll soon be creating on your own. I can't help looking at a pattern or a plain dress and thinking how I could use another idea from 101 Bodice Designs. She even gives info on how to sew a basic dress and an adjustment chart for various size dolls. I love this little book!

This book is really a good find. Many great ideas, and easy to understand instructions.

This is a great book with over 100 illustrations, 8 pages of full sized patterns, and a way to enlarge the patterns for other dolls. I love this book because it gives me great options for using the same pattern over and over without having to keep buying more patterns. The instructions are clearly written for beginners but advanced sewers will find a lot of good stuff here.
