This review is from: 101 Dog Illustrations: A Pictorial Archive of Championship Breeds (Dover Pictorial Archive) (Paperback)
Gladys Emerson Cook was a specialist in sketches and paintings of animals, especially dogs, and this is a Dover reprint of her All Breeds, All Champions: A Book of Dogs. Beginning, as do most experts, with the sporting group, she works her way through the other five major types of dog and provides for each of the 101 best-known breeds one to three sketches and a brief description of the dog's personality, style, and appearance. Each of the sketches was made from an acknowledged champion and therefore represents the best example of that breed. Dog lovers and people simply curious about the most popular breeds should find the book useful.
