I bought this book for my niece, she is turning eight and we wanted to get her first pet - a fish. She and I sat and read through the book together. She really enjoyed the book and was noting as she read through what equipment she needed and the types of fish that she wanted to take a look at. It was also helpful for us as she had some ideas of what she wanted and we were unable to change her mind until she read through the book and understood better. She made a very good sound decision on the fish she wanted and now understands what she needs to do to take care of it. A very helpful book for the young reader.
