Parents normally introduce their kids at a much earlier age to fairy tales books than to the Bible. Why? Because the text is just too complicated to explain to the young minds.

Thanks to this 101 Favorite Stories, it is now a lot easier to introduce our kids to the wonderful bible stories. Each page contains one summarized story of an important bible event (including corresponding verse) & opposite its page is a colorful illustration that will captivate a young mind & hold its short-spanned attention. What's even greater is that, this book holds stories both from the Old & New Testament.

Just be careful when you let your toddlers read/view this book as the pages are not cardboard material & can be torn by small excited fingers.

Very good visual Bible -- better for 6 and up than for younger years. There are follow up questions. We use it for family devotions. The pictures are very clear, a little too busy if your children are under 3, but remember, children GROW. This is a great book to have on hand -- we toss it in the church bag and can look up the scripture readings each week. It's nice for the kids to have a visual reference.

With 101 stories, we can do the whole thing, one page per day, for summer vacation (that's the plan).

This is not a baby Bible -- it's much more rich than most.

We purchased this book for a young couple at church who are having their first baby. In their thank you card to us, the mother wrote: "We were so excited as we looked through it and found it was exactly what we had been looking for. We were just talking last week about how hard it is to find a good Bible story book with King James verses and good pictures, and yet how important it is to have book about the Bible. So this book will definately get a lot of use in our home!" We can't say more! It is a tremendous book with great pictures and Biblical stories geared to hold the attention of the little ones! THIS BOOK IS ADVERTISED FOR CHILDREN BUT IT IS A GOOD REFERENCE BOOK FOR ADULTS AS WELL.

We are a bit disappointed... there are many assumptions for words, labels, titles and terms which require explanation to our 5 year old. Our Egermeier is preferred.

This book consists of 1 page Bible stories, with nice color pictures. The writing is at the upper elementary/middle school level but could be read by an adult to a younger child. The stories are very complete with explanations of relationships between the people. I liked the facts that the references to the story in the Bible were listed. I bought this book for an adult with reading challenges. He loves the fact that he can read a simplified version of a Bible story that is not childish.

If you need a book for a small children's class, this may be what you are looking for. I enjoyed using the Spanish version of this book while at a mission.
It is a small book, not heavy, so therefore it is easy to take with you wherever you need it.

This is a book every kid should own. The pictures are spectacular and kids pour over them. The stories are great and accurate, though not as captivating as some. Still a book worth buying!

Beautiful illustrations, easy to read and for a child to understand. Only concen: pages are too thin for little hands to turn...but, I would buy it again.
