Not being a very young person, I remember the days when going to confession meant "shaking in your boots". Most of the time, I dreaded it. With Sister Patricia Proctor's book, 101 Inspirational Stories of The Sacrament of Reconciliation, I have come to relax in this Sacrament. Sister, in her book, shows us how to be fully at peace with ourselves. Jesus is total love, and wants to help us and forgive us. The priest, as Jesus' representative, is there to understand as Jesus understands. It is a beautiful Sacrament, where we do not have to live with guilt. Jesus, through the priest, removes all discomfort. This is a wonderful book, that helps us to look forward to the Sacrament of Reconciliation, or confession. Many truly inspiring stories will bring about a return to the experience for Catholics who have stopped going. It also gives a practical understanding of the sacrament to people coming into the Catholic Church and for those who may be thinking about becoming Catholic. I have enjoyed renewing my relationship with the Sacrament as a result of reading this book.

If you have ever had doubts about Reconciliation or "going to confession", this is the book for you! Someone gave a copy to our daughter as a gift. I bought another copy for my husband and me. We had returned to the Catholic Church after 30 years absence and confession was a stumbling block for us as former Protestants. Not any more. Now we see it in a different light. What a blessing! A book for all Christians, Catholic or not. It will help Protestants understand the Sacrament as well. Many thanks to Sr. Proctor!
