love this book!,

I have a few different bar books because I love to throw parties. When we have a party, we put all our different liquors, mixers and garnishes on a table in the middle of the room. Then we make lots of coasters that have different drink recipes on them and let people make their own drinks. Not only does it make it easier for us the hosts, it encourages people at the party to talk to each other and compare drinks. This margarita book is perfect for that. We are having a party in two weeks and it may very well be a Margarita party with this book being the basis. The photography is gorgeous and I want to scan the images to make the coasters. Also, there are so many different colors of margaritas; if your party has a color theme, it is easy to pick out appropriate recipes. On top of that, the book is only $10.00. What a deal. I am happy to add it to my collection and with it's pretty cover, it will be facing outward on my bookshelf. And I highly recommend the Midori Margarita!

Amazing Variety of Recipes,
This review is from: 101 Margaritas (Hardcover)
This is an amazing compilation of margarita recipes. Who knew there could be so many delicious and mouthwatering recipes for margaritas. I've always been a classic margarita gal, but this summer I'll definitely be serving the pink lemonade or lemon meringue margarita at a Sunday brunch with good girlfriends. Cheers!

I have never in my life bought a recipe book without an index or table of contents until this one. The drinks are not even in alphabetical order! I did not notice this when I first bought this book and browsed the different margarita recipes. However, when I decided days later to look up the recipe for a raspberry margarita I noticed the book did not have an index, a table of contents and was not in alphabetical order. What insanity! I had to hunt for the recipe. Unless you are into trying unusual concoctions like Avocado-Cilantro or Cherimoya or Blood Orange Margaritas, I recommend that you skip this book. I bought The Bartender's Black Book [$12.95 for 8th edition on Amazon] and am very pleased with it. It has over a dozen different popular Margarita recipes along with many other drink recipes and helpful drink making instructions/tips. It has a total of over 2,700 drink recipes AND the drink recipes are in alphabetical order.

This is a fun book. Great design and style -- so very true to its subject. The structure is informal to be sure. There's no table of contents or index. The recipes are in no apparent order which would help you to efficiently find any one in particular. But, this book is a margarita for the eyes. The design, colors, type and photography all convey the feeling of cool, laid-back, just-a-little-bit-tipsy relaxation. Flipping through its pages makes me feel almost as good as drinking one of its prescribed creations. And, oh yea, there really are some exciting recipes and loads of them. I'm going to have a blast this summer trying them out.

Great recipes to try!,

Every recipe we've tried from this book has been great. Avacado and cilantro margaritas? Try them, you'll be surprised. The more "normal" fruit and liquor flavored recipes have been very popular with family and friends.

We have tried a couple of the reciepes in this book and they are very good!! We will never buy another bottle of margarita mix!! We do cheat on the strawberry margarita recipe and use whole frozen strawberries instead of fresh. Your drink doesnt seem to have as many seeds in it and its not as tart.

First off, I will agree with some other reviews that a table of contents would be very helpful. But for me, that is not a deal breaker, as the content itself is great! I have been making some of my own margaritas for quite some time, but after making some from this book, it has helped me to learn what my own recipes could use. Specifically, I now think that both lime and lemon juice are essential to most good margaritas.
I have tried recipes from other books and online sites. The thing that sets this book apart is that it is clear that these recipes have been taste-tested. You would think that goes without saying, but it was pretty obvious that recipes from two other books I have tried could not have been taste tested, or if they were, then the testers must have TRULY oddball palettes, taste buds, whatever. I also like that you have recipes from simple to complex, specialty, etc. - a very wide range of choices. And all I have tried (about fifteen of them) were excellent. Cheers!
