More About the Author

In the book, To See Before I die, Charlotte knows that just about everything bad that happens starts out on the front porch.

"Take my sister Anna, for instance. If she hadn't believed that pack of lies Zack Southerby fed her out on the front porch swing, she wouldn't be in the swelled up predicament she was in now, if you get my drift. And my brother, Tom, wouldn't have that two inch scar running down his face if that one board hadn't jarred loose and tripped him while he was running across it with Mama's good kitchen scissors. Daddy said he didn't know how that nail could've jimmied up a good inch out of the deck; said it must've been the heat that popped it. But I knew better. Our porch was cursed, no doubt about it.

Bad thing was, it wasn't just after our family. Our neighbor Rita was helping Mama snap beans last summer, when she all of a sudden keeled over and died. Doc blamed that on the heat and Rita's age. But I'd been to Rita's just the day before, helping her snap her own beans, on her own porch, and she didn't die there."

Our heroine, Charlotte, is a young girl who hates chores, fights with her sister, and keeps a "To See Before I Die" list. Normal teen, with two exceptions she has cancer and she has no boobs. Oh, and a sister who's pregnant and full of pre-baby hormones. Of course Charlotte knows why everything bad happens to them: it's the front porch. And the snake that lives underneath it, which is why she won't step one foot on it. In the end, the choice she makes will leave readers talking long after they've read the last page.

Abducted: The Middle of Nowhere is a young adult novel full of suspense and love gone wrong. In the story, Julie West's life takes an unexpected turn when her obsessive ex-boyfriend is waiting in her car after work one night. Julie soon finds out that being abducted is the least of her worries. As day after day passes, things go from bad to unbelievable. In the end, Julie is faced with a decision that will both shock and endear her to readers. Check it out!

Ginger James is on the scene! Check out the new series starting with Ginger James: Drama Queen (Kindergarten - 3rd Grade). GINGER JAMES, DRAMA QUEEN is about a girl who totally believes that one day she is going to be a famous actress. She is intent on being the most popular girl in third grade. Everything is going well until Madison S. Gardens comes to class. Madison with the perfect hair, perfect clothes, perfect voice and of course, perfect name. Suddenly everyone is paying attention to her and not Ginger. There is only one thing to do. Move to a new town, to a new neighborhood, to a new school where they never heard of a girl with a perfect name like Madison S. Gardens. Leaky pipes and bugs in the house are just some of the things Ginger attempts in trying to get her parents to move! Then, to top things off, Ginger gets a part in the community play only to find out that Madison does, too! It's always Madison, Madison, Madison! What will Ginger do to win back her popularity?

I have seven drama books available on Amazon, bookstores, and Meriwether Publishing. Need a monologue or play for drama competition? With over 500 themes in 7 books, you're sure to find one that fits!

I enjoy writing monologues, young adult fiction, middle grade, beginning chapter books and picture books. Georgetown, Ky is home to me, my three girls, two cats and a husband that was my high school sweetheart. I enjoy reading, writing (of course!), creating book trailers, and spending time with my family. Our newest hobby is biking! I love it!

Many monologues were inspired by real life family events--you'll have to try and guess which ones! :)

1.0 out of 5 stars NOTHING I WOULD USE!, September 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 101 Monologues for Middle School Actors: Including Duologues and Triologues (Paperback)
I'm in charge of a Middle School Drama club this year and thought that a monologue book would be a good addition to my other resoources. What a mistake. The book is really not high quality material. I found the stories to be inane, boring, ordinary and uninteresting. This is not something I would use with students. They are capable of more than this!
