101 Nights of Grrreat Romance: Secret Sealed Seductions for Fun-Loving Couples

I got this book for my husband as a Valentine's Day present, not because I thought our romance needed work, but because I thought it would be fun and introduce us to some new ideas. It *has* been a lot of fun, but after the first couple of weeks we switched to doing the romances every other week because 1) even the "inexpensive" ones were turning out more expensive than we thought they would be, and 2) pulling an envelope on Sunday and performing the romance by Saturday just wasn't enough time in a lot of cases! So now we switch off - I'll do one one week, and he'll do one the next week, and we pull our envelopes two weeks in advance to give us plenty of time to plan.

Most of the romances have been LOTS of fun, and very romantic, but so far the "kiss of the week"s have been sortof dumb, and the "passion coupon"s just haven't been manageable.

Don't let those things stop you from buying the book, though! The ideas for the romances are FANTASTIC, even if they frequently need a little (or a lot) of adapting to make them fit in your lifestyle - they at least give you a starting point to work with!

*DO* pay attention to the expense, though. So far we've wound up paying at least $10 - $25 MORE for each romance than she predicts. If you're on a tight budget, this might just make you even more stressed. If you're on a budget, I still recommend buying the book, and then pulling ALL of the envelopes in advance so you get a reasonable idea of what they cost, and maybe some ideas for reducing the cost.

Laura Corn's book is simply wonderful. The idea is so simple, yet it works very well. The book is filled with 101 ideas for romantic evenings. 50 are for him, 50 for her (with the last one to be done together). The seductions are sealed shut, so you can't see what's inside them. All you know before opening it is the title, approximately what it will cost you, whether food or travel (by car) is required, and what season (if any) it is appropriate for.

Each week one or both of you take one and work on pulling off this romantic evening. A lot of the fun comes from knowing how much your partner will enjoy all the effort you put into the evening.

The ideas inside are very good. Some of them are simple and require little planning. Others are more elaborate. But all are fun to do. I won't spoil it for you by telling you what any of them are, but, suffice to say, they are simply great.

It is true that there may be one or two that do not fit your personal situation. However, the plans are usually broad enough that with a little thought and some modification, you can usually make it work.

One caveat: Laura usually describes on the cover of each seduction how much it is going to cost. In reality, you should probably count on spending a bit more than she plans; especially if you make your own customizations to the plans she provides.

My wife and I have given this book to others we know and would recommend it to anyone who wants to rekindle those flames of romance; or to anyone who is simply a romantic at heart.

My husband and I have been together 12+ years. Two kids and one house later, we have fallen into a rut. (Sounds familiar?)

I'm thrilled that we have this book. True, some of the ideas are corny, but wasn't that how it was when you first met your mate? This book reminds you how to be considerate, thoughtful, anticipating each "romance" together. You get out of it what you put into it.

We have experienced 4 romances so far, and for the most part they have been memorable, if not always perfect. The icons are helpful to clue you in on preparation time, $ spent, etc. The anticipation is truly half of the fun. Two of our friends have purchased this book on our recommendation... it's worth a look.

I got the book and video as a gift and am now recommeding them both to everyone I know. I have never had such an incredible sex life. The intimacy between me and my partner has dramatically increased as we are now 100 times more comfortable with each other's desires and needs. I found the video to be easier to follow and more comprehensive than the book, but together they do wonders for a long-lasting relationship.

My husband and I just got this book in the hopes of rekindling the thrill of "dating" that has fallen to the wayside since having children. It has offered some very refreshing and very creative ideas for sharing special time together. Any couple feeling the strain of everyday life can benefit from this book. It is great for putting the spark back into your relationship. Not only does it help to give you suggestions it encourages you to be creative. To be uninhibited. With the help of this book we have begun cherish each other more and to regain the feelings we had when we first got married. The elements of suprise, excitement, intimacy and careing for one another are all in there. Laura is very good at showing us that in order to have a truely satisfying relationship each person needs to give a little extra. That in taking you also give to your partner and vice versa. This book really is grrreat and we look forward to every page we open. Thank you Laura Corn!

I bought this book for fun for just me and my husband -- after being married 5 years. Just started with the book and some ideas are helpful but some can be time consuming to get together and plan, esp. for both full time working people and we don't even have kids yet. What's great is that although it is hard for both of us to plan one per week, we just give ourselves a longer time frame and it even sparks just doing other spontaneous or planned romantic things together and not exactly follow what they recommend - since you can't know what the other is supposed to do anyways, and just the idea of having to rip something open is fun and exciting. There were times I went ahead and just ripped out another if one was just not do-able -- ie. summertime event and it's already too cold to do.

another good book by laura corn is the one with greatest sex -- those are easier to plan and set up.

This book is fabulous. We have been married 28 years and are now feeling like a couple of teenagers going out on dates. I've become the wild woman from Borneo and my husband is constantly smiling. The assignments zero in on the Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus concept. I am so glad I found this book and have recommended it to many friends.

My boyfriend and I purchased this book for fun. Our relationship is still new, but we're adventurous and figured this book could only make things better for us. We've decided to alternate instead of both pulling out a page each week - this way the book will last 2 years. I have had so much fun planning the first "adventure in romance" (recipes your mother never told you about) and I can't wait to pull it all off. Yesterday I arranged the kiss of the week - secretly placing Hershey's Kisses in every pocket I could find in his closet. What a GREAT idea! The introduction of this book is excellent and describes how the book "works" very well. I can't wait until I have some extra cash and rip out one of the more expensive ideas... :-) The ONLY drawback to the book is it seems designed for married folks, or at least people who live together. I had to arrange with my boyfriend's roommate to let me into the apartment so I could hide the kisses and I have to slightly alter the plan to account for the fact that we don't live together, but it will still be great.

We've been married for 8 years and those who have been married or involved for any length of time know that romance gets lost after a couple of years, add a child or two and forget it. This book is an excellent aid for those who realize the romance has faded and want to do something about it and/or come up short in the imagination department. We've had a lot of fun with this but caution those who work shifts. I work midnights and that has put a damper on things. You really need to be in a situation where you spend your evenings together.

As some of the others have mentioned there are some goofy things suggested. But if you put that aside and go with it you will have a good time and come up with ideas of your own. Some of the things I considered really stupid were the ones my wife really enjoyed. As I mentioned before this book will really benefit those who have the same schedule.

My marriage definitely needed a jump-start, so I invested in a ton of self-help books to learn improvements and insight. After weeding through the lot, two books in particular dared to make a true difference in my marriage. Practicing the tips from 101 Nights of Great Romance not only rekindled our passion, it helped us to send it through the roof. Still, we learned that passion without marital depth is one-dimensional and short lived. It's lust, not neccesarily love. And that's where Loving Vows: Inspiring Promises For Building and Renewing Your Marriage saved the day...and our marriage. Loving Vows invited us to revisit our wedding vows (and that conversation turned out a lot more romantic than either of us supected) then it showed us how to keep each one of our vows over many long years of marriage--to my surprise, it hit on even my personalized wedding promises. Both books are extremely insightful and original. We may have paid a lot of money to successfully pull off the ideas from 101 Nights, but it was worth every penny because of the renewed love we gained from practicing the advice from Loving Vows. Now we share lust and love and hail these two books whenever and wherever we can. Get them both for a totally renenwed marital experience.
