5.0 out of 5 stars Informative Read
This book presents a lot of ideas for projects in a way that the average person could understand the level of difficulty involved and the tools and products necessary to complete them. Excellent full color photos. If you are a master mechanic or engine builder then this may not be challenging enough. However, if you own a Mustang in need of repairs or upgrades, then this...

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Pictures, not much else, April 20, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: 101 Projects for Your 1964-1/2 - 1973 Mustang (Paperback)
While the graphic presention in this book is excellent, the content is sorely lacking in detail. This is more of an idea book than an instructional one. Their rating system for degree of difficulty is completely innaccurate. Removing front coil springs is rated as more difficult than tasks like replacing the upper control arms (which require removing the front coil springs!) or even front rack and pinion conversions, which are extremely difficult. If you are looking for ideas on some possible projects, this is an OK book, although the information is widely available elsewhere. If you are looking for in depth instruction, this one is all sizzle and no steak.

Excellent full color photos. If you are a master mechanic or engine builder then this may not be challenging enough. However, if you own a Mustang in need of repairs or upgrades, then this is a great place to begin. Plus, being an old car magazine junkie, I recognized that the author was a former Editor of Super Ford and Mustang Monthly magazines. I would reccomend this book to anyone as a solid information guide.

3.0 out of 5 stars Intended for the novice, October 25, 2006

This review is from: 101 Projects for Your 1964-1/2 - 1973 Mustang (Paperback)
If you have any automotive knowledge and experience beyond the novice level, this book is not for you. The book is not a bad reference guide, but is more a list of recommendations than a how-to book. The layout and the photography is well done, but the pictures for the too few how-to articles tend to be more before-after than a detailed step-by-step format, which would be a welcome addition. Most experienced owners that have modified or are in the process of modifying their Mustangs are not going to find any new tricks here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Place to Start, April 26, 2007
This review is from: 101 Projects for Your 1964-1/2 - 1973 Mustang (Paperback)
This is a great place to start for novice car buffs who want to upgrade the performance of their classic Mustang, but don't know the difference between a cam shaft and a drive shaft. Like an earlier post stated, this is a list with color illustrations to give you ideas on how to do everything from switching to an aluminum driveshaft to adding a Monte Carlo bar. It is not that great of a how-to book, but it is a wonderful place to start.

2.0 out of 5 stars 101 Vendor Advertisements...very little help, June 9, 2010

As an owner of a similar book for a 911 ("101 Projects for Your Porsche 911") I purchased "101 Projects for Your Mustang 1965.5-1973" expecting it to be an additional reference for my Mustang Shop Manual. Where the Porsche version actually provides technical tips and troubleshooting recommendations, the Mustang version acts as an advertisement for vendors and restoration services. It provides very little help for the DIY restorer.

Good value book for every mustang owner.
