101 Puppy Buying Tips was a finalist in the 2009 Next Generation Indie Book Awards Animals/Pets category.

Not only does this book include information on different breeds and what to expect when you buy or adopt a puppy, but it also includes a lot of very useful information that I never would have thought about, or even known to ask. It is also very well written, with a kind of down-to-earth sense of humor that is rare to find in these informational type books. I would recommend this book to anyone I know that is thinking about buying or adopting a dog.

This is an excellent, thoughtful book which is an essential resource for any one who is considering adding a puppy to their family. The title is actually misleading since this very well-written and organized book not only helps in the buying process but also offers a comprehensive view and great advice and tips to the new puppy owner in all areas of training and bringing up your new member of the family. Having owned,trained, and interacted with many dogs throughout my life, it is obvious that the author is very knowledgeable and insightful. There are a large number of extremely useful tips and information that I would have never even thought of or considered. Even though factual in nature, the book has a wonderful sense of humor about it and is a joy to read. If your thinking about buying a puppy or recently have already, I highly recommend reading and learning from this book! I think the book would also be very useful for anyone who has a canine family member beyond the puppy years.
