Irresponsible and very blind-sighted,

This review is from: 101 Questions Your Cat Would Ask Its Vet If Your Cat Could Talk (Paperback)
The author obviously loves cats. So much so that he makes a lot of assumptions that are simply not correct. I became especially irritated in the section where he proclaimed that cats left outside do not affect bird populations. I live in Australia where our native bird wildlife has been decimated by both ferral and domestic cats, and there has been a long-existing war to try and stop this. While they certainly aren't causing extinction, it is irresponsible to ignore the fact that an introduced species are unnatural predators in this kind of ecosystem. Don't get me wrong, I have a cat and love him, but cat lovers (i.e. this author) tend to be very caught up in the world of cats, without understanding the real world situation!

This review is from: 101 Questions Your Cat Would Ask Its Vet: If Your Cat Could Talk (Hardcover)
This is the only cat book I have seen that combines simplicity, entertainment and common sense. It should be required reading for every cat owner; you can dip into it anywhere and draw up useful information. I have been giving copies of this book to the new cat owners among my relatives and friends for years.
Beware! There is another, larger, very glossy imitation of this book, published in 1999, that also has "101 Questions" in the title. The people who created it, whom I suspect of trying to capitalize on the success of Fogle's simple, modest, and beautiful book, should be left in a cage without food, water, or a clean catbox for an extended period of time.
