The Jack Sparrow Pirate boots for children are as nice as I hoped they would be. The sizing was very accurate as they fit my son perfectly. You cannot tell from the picture, but there is a zipper that runs down the back of the boot under the laces (very well hidden). The zipper is useful for tucking pants in neatly when we wanted my son's costume to look it's best on Halloween. But he is also able to just pull them off and on easily without using the zipper which he has done many times since Halloween to play pirate. I was concerned the shoes might be slippery for a kid whose only used to wearing tennis shoes, but there is a bit of texture on the bottom of the shoe to help give it a non-slip surface. There's also a thin layer of rubber on the heel. We did take them out on the sidewalk where he roughed them up on the bottom. These are real boots that would hold up as well or better than any shoe I've bought for children. They would be great costume attire for a theatre play.

These are GREAT. They fit my son good with room to grow. I think there size is right on target! My son wore these with his Captain Hook Costume. They are Perfect! Totally recomind them to everyone!
