I've been a college level thrower and coach for a little bit of time and even I need help at times. This book was a nice addition to my throws collection and was an easy read with picture breakdowns of the movements in the shot. I would suggest as a companion book Larry Judge's Shotput Handbook as well!

I have competed in 12 - 16 Scottish Highland Games every year for the past 3 years. I found the drills extremely useful for the similar stone put as well as other events that are contested. I recommend this book for anyone learning to throw like myself. I can't wait to see how well I improve this season.

I bought this book as a hopeful resource for more inspiration in coaching athletes on how shut put. This book provide very basic instructions and techniques on how to throw the shot. There are pictures to help illustration the beginning and end phase of each technique exercise show. Now, sometimes there are pictures that illustration the mid phase of an exercise. If you are looking for a complete basic idea on how to throw shot put and have no clue, then this book might help. I have thrown shot in high school and college and I know that there are better exercises out there. About %80 of what is show one will only need the shot put. There is a small section on using a medicine ball but again, the exercises are basic and I know there is better stuff out there. The pictures are all in black and white and at times are difficult to understand what exactly the movement is in order to perform the exercise.
