As soon as I read the title of this book, I wanted a copy. Then when I got a copy, I started worrying that I was one of those old and boring people. After all, I'm thirty-one, which isn't as old as, say, Methuselah, but isn't as young as any of those cuties on Dawson's Creek, either. But then I decided I'll probably always be young at heart (which basically means I'll be wrinkled and totally gray, and yet still want to learn to skydive), so this book could be a great guide to see what I've accomplished.

According to Mr. Horne and Ms. Szirtes, these are the one-hundred-and-one things everyone should do to keep their life fun and interesting--and to keep you from being old and boring. Included after each category are my own thoughts on the matter:

1) Send a Message in a Bottle: Did this as a class project once; never got a response.

2) Run up an Escalator the Wrong Way: Did it, but only because I was in a hurry.

3) Make an Origami Crane: Too uncoordinated and impatient.

4) Learn How to Tell When Someone Has a Crush on You (and When They Don't): Wish I'd had this list in high school.

5) Keep a Dream Diary: Still do this.

6) Touch These Creatures: No thank you; there's no way touching a ginormous hairy spider will improve my life.

7) Prepare Yourself for Fame: I've been prepared for years; Fame is obviously avoiding me.

8) Learn to Play an Instrument: Wish I'd done this!

9) Play a Computer Game to the End: Done this too many times; undoubtedly this says something about my social life.

10) Have an Embarrassing Moment and Get Over It: This is called life; happens all the time.

11) Get Your School Involved in a World Record Attempt: So cool!

I have ordered several of these and one for myself.
It seems to be written for teens and preteens but I thought it would be fun for lots of people.
At 70, I am old but I hope not boring yet . . .

This is my fault- I'm sure had I read about this book ahead of time, I would have realized it was very geared for kids. I found it on a list of gift ideas for guys who love the outdoors/adventure & then neglected to look at the item details on amazon- so... I gifted it to my boyfriend as part of his 36th birthday present & it is VERY MUCH for kids... it's a really cute/fun book for kids, & for that purpose would have gotten 5 stars from me, except for the sections on lying & learning how to pass blame. Could have done without those, as most kids I encounter have those skills pretty well down!

This was an adorable gift idea for my brother in-law and my newphew. They are super excited to accomplish all the random things together in this book.

It gives you what it says it will in the title, but not too much more. Buying it is a good idea, especially if you are young and have a creative mind.
