Stones, ...lite!,

This review is from: 101 Things to Do With a Stone Circle (Paperback)
Definitely an interesting slim little volume, ...but the title may mislead some. If you are a dedicated pagan Celt and expecting a serious manual of things you can actually "do" with a stone circle, you will be disappointed.
This is a small paperback, crammed with a series of short paragraphs, each one about some aspect of the constructions, legends, theories and weird ideas and strange happenings surrounding the megalithic standing stone monuments of Britain and Europe. It's all very lightweight, sometimes amusing and an interesting little peruse if you're fascinated by those constructions. It's not necessary to read it from cover to cover, but dart about as interest takes you. Just don't expect in depth examinations, ....and it's all a touch tongue-in-cheek in the "Ripley-Believe-It-or-Not" style. |
