4.0 out of 5 stars 101 Tips for Directors: Resources for You and Your Center, August 14, 2000

This review is from: 101 Tips for Resources for You & Your Center: 101 Quick Tips for Managing a Preschool or Daycare (Paperback)
This book is a must for everyone that wants to read about some very easy and helpful tips about saving money and using free or cheap resources available within the community. The book is organized into ten chapters such as "Free Art Supplies", "Around-the-Town Resources", and "Your Facility From Top to Bottom". Each chapter contains ten great ideas that will help directors or those wanting to enter the child care business get hands-on tips on how to lower costs and provide great education for children. In the first chapter, for example, the author recommends to check with parents for recycling paper to be used for arts projects from home or office. Another great tip was to tell businesses you are the director of an early childhood center because many businesses give teachers or directors discounts on books or supplies. The book emphasized to work with your community. For example, the local utility company may donate a free air conditioning repair if it knows that it will be favorably mentioned in the Centers' newsletter. The last chapter contains a list of professional resources with addresses and phone numbers which helps you grow in your field, learn more about what you do, and network with others. Overall, for the price of this book, I got my money's worth!
