From the Author

I wrote this book for sales people to be able to be better organized, to sell more and sell faster. From the time I first started to use Act, when it was in DOS, I felt that the power of the computer to help sales people sell more was at hand. After ACT! became available for windows I thought that a book for sales people that stripped away all the features and verbiage of the technical manual and became a sales manual was necessary. Hundreds of people have sent me thank you notes, emails or called to say that the book has helped them. Now that Act 2000 has a sales opportunity section and a better way to forecast this book will help every sales person to get control of their sales future.

5.0 out of 5 stars So, you think you know ACT! inside and out ?, March 30, 2000

This review is from: 101 Tools : Using Act 2000 to Develop a Sales Strategy (Paperback)
I have been an ACT! user since 1994.

I consider myself a very high level user. I recently have been on a quest to get the most out of ACT!, so I ordered this book.

At first, I looked through the book and thought to myself, there's not much new here, not much I don't already know.

Then I forced myself to read the book page by page and I found out a very interesting thing. 1. I was using ACT! more as a database vs. a sales tool. 2. I was not doing alot of simple things that make a big difference. 3. I was not thinking in terms of "information". I was thinking in terms of "data".

Bottom line, this is a must have for any ACT! user. If you get just one great idea, the book will pay for itself many times over. As for me, I have got and started to USE many ideas.

I once heard someone say: In horse racing, the horse that wins, wins by a nose - not by a few feet, but usually just by a nose. I think the same is true in sales. The person with just the extra edge usually wins.

I feel that I am starting to use ACT! like a sales tool now, not just a database.

Hope this is somewhat helpful for you.

Mike

5.0 out of 5 stars Increase Your Sales With Act! & Brad Sandy!, April 2, 2000
By
This review is from: 101 Tools : Using Act 2000 to Develop a Sales Strategy (Paperback)
I have been using Act! for over four years. Act has also been mandatory for our sales team to use. I had requested that everyone read Brad Sandy's book as I felt this gave us an edge with a PROCESS to support our sales effort. Although many didn't immediately see the benefits, within 2 weeks I had strong converts! I love this book - it's an easy read, and is written in language everyone can understand. The basic lay out of the book makes sense with important points highlighted along the way. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in growing their sales base with tools they already have! Too often Act! is only thought of as a reporting function or information sharing program - Brad Sandy shows us how to use it as a STRONG sales tool to easily increase business through a simple step by step process!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book thinks *out* of the box, September 23, 2000

I highly recommend Brad Sandy's book to any salesperson looking to leverage ACT!. All the other books on the market mirror the User Guide - which you get for free with your purchase of the program. This book is entirely different; it gives techniques instead of the usual "Click here, then click there, then click...."

If you find Brad's book useful, I also recommend you try out one of his ACT! strategy camps.
