Although this book is now quite old it has lost none of it's ascerbic wit. And it is wit with a dark, naughty and twisted edge which does not have to work hard to illustrate it's point, it does exactly what you would expect of the title and why would you look if you felt as though you would be offended?
I believe this kind of base, juvenille humour is needed by us all at time's. The hilarity of the forbidden and taboo subject is intensely and achingly funny sometimes. Surely everyone remembers wanting to howl with laughter when being heftily scalded as a child?
To ignore we have such base instincts is to deny being human and assume superiorty over ones peers, quite hilarious in itself really, it is afterall, JUST A BOOK!
This book is wickedly funny and a huge "pick-me-up" with no real malice intended! To the book's detractors and disapprovers I say, Lighten up folks! NO ACTUAL CATS WERE HURT IN THE MAKING OF THE BOOK!!

I first encountered "101 Uses for a Dead Cat" about 20 years ago. Every page produced at least a chuckle and a good many guffaws. These are humorously drawn cartoons without captions -- and they're as absurd as they're meant to be. Of course, no one in real life is going to use a dead cat for any purpose whatever, but given how seriously some cat lovers take their cats -- and the nature of the housecat -- the premise itself is funny. One of those premises, by the way, is that in these 101 absurd cartoons, cats appear to be of more usefulness dead than alive.

I know a lot of cat owners who think this book is hilarious precisely because they love their cats despite the fact that, in many ways, their cats are frequently annoying, destructive, selfish, demanding and high maintenance.

At any rate, I'm always amused when I find people who take this book so seriously they don't see the humor in it, much like vegetarians who go out to dinner with friends and then are obnoxious about the meat or fish other people are eating.

My cat just died, so I dug this book out as an antidote to my gloom. Fantastic, haven't laughed so much in years, and it's given me one or two ideas as well...

This book arrived very quickly and in excellent shape. I gifted a good friend with this, who was very pleased, as he had no idea this book was even available any more.

Since I was a child the hilarious drawings and crafty - yet dreadful ideas are still enjoyable to me and to everyone I introduce this book to in my bathroom reader basket. I can almost hear chuckles from the bathroom every few minutes! A fun book.

Here a cat, there a cat, everywhere a cat cat!! I remember getting this when I was a teen and I laughed the whole way through. There's no plot here, people, just lots of uses for dead cats, and that is saying a lot, seeing as how I love cats!!

How'd you like to use a dead cat for a baseball bat? How about a beer tap? How about a dead cat frisbee? How about a cat pencil sharpener. Yep, I read this book, and I thought it was hilarious. I guess you could say that if you are sensitive to cat jokes, don't dare get or even peek at this book! This just goes along with my somewhat warped sense of humor!

I had this book when I was a child, but last year I bought it for a friend for her birthday (20 years old). With me being a dog lover and her a cat lover, I was surprised at how much we both enjoyed it. This is a book that would be fun for most ages.

I am a cat lover and although I laughed at a few of the cartoons I can see where a child would find this book hysterical! I would recommend it for kids!

Mother points dramatically to a thoroughly flattened cat lying on the roadway. "Look at that!" she exclaims to her four-year old child. "THAT cat crossed the road without asking its mother first!!" Child bursts into a torrent of tears (and never again crosses a road without first asking mother.)

This book helped me to finally find out just what type of Cat I like most....Dead ones. My favorite use was the Hot Mitt Idea! You'll never watch the Musical "Cats" in the same way again! Brilliant!
