This review is from: 101 Ways to Get Out Of Debt and On the Road to Wealth (Paperback)
I remember reading a quote somewhere... "Wall street is the only place in the world where an investor drives his Rolls Royce into town to get financial advice from a guy who took the train to work". Funny hey?! But it's amazing how much street cred an empty title like 'financial planner' gives you. And soooo many average Australians have NO idea about the gibberish that many of these quacks speak. They also have NOOOO idea about what debt is.In other words, why would you listen to a financial adviser who isn't on course to retire by the age of 35 himself?? Because if they were any good and really, truly understood how the system actually worked, they would have retired early, and written a book about how anyone can follow their lead. Enter Ashley Ormond. He did just that. If you are a single mother, a high school student or a university graduate, you need this book. If you are someone who has never had any idea about debt or interest or mortgages, or maybe you have credit card problems, or you need a new car, you need this book. If you don't know what good debt and bad debt is, you need this book. If you are single, looking at starting a family or looking at retirement - you need this book too. I respect this man. He has taken what appears to be a really really difficult and seemingly boring reality that we are all burdened with and made it sooooooo simple. His ideas/suggestions are backed by examples throughout the book - examples that are common among all corners of society. He has also written a couple of other books too. "$1m for life" is an amazing book. It touches on debt relief (not as much as '101 ways' does), but it's main focus is on investing, replacing your income and wealth building through shares, property and your super. Another book I have seen in the shops is "how to give your kids $1m each", which I have not yet read, but I'm sure it is as enjoyable, informative and easy to read as the other two. It's sort of the 'rich dad poor dad' for the average punter in Australia. |
