About the Author

Steve Sjogren is the Founding Pastor of the Cincinnati Vineyard a church that grew from five people to 7 500 in weekly attendance with his talent team's leadership. The unique feature of this church was they literally gave up after two years of struggling to achieve 'success' and made a fateful decision - to give everything away! Numbers attendance - such matrix factors no longer were focused upon. What counted was simply "How many can we serve love show generosity to?" It wasn't long before scads of people were showing up.
Steve and Janie have pioneered from scratch either alone or with a team five launch teams around the U.S. and Europe using servant evangelism as a launch approach to loving their cities and redefining God away from a "Come to us" to a "We come we show you" approach. "Invest fling seeds let God take care of the details" has worked well as a motto. Very high percentages of not-yet believers have been drawn to each of their churches daughter and grand-daugher churches. They now are in Tampa working with teams of planters. The first thing that I thought when I read this book is "every small group in our church needs a copy!". This is one of those remarkable books that can transform a church and the lives of a community.

It gave me hundreds of ideas for evangelism in my community. It is truly a great and much needed book.

101 Ways will launch you into the most practical and relevant way to open up peoples hearts to the mercy, forgiveness and love of Christ. After reading this book I felt the Holy Spirit, Christ's own special presence drawing me irresistably to act out kindness on Christ's behalf. I used to have my doubts whether kindness was an effective way to put people in touch with Christ. But there is no doubt that Steve Sjogren and 101 ways has changed my life forever. My mission statement after reading this book is: "To spend my life for the sake of kindness on Christ's behalf!" That's how much I believe in the power of kindness. I think God thought it was a pretty good idea too: "through kindness God leads us into a radical life change" (Romans 2:4 The Message). Kindness on Christ's behalf changed my life and I'm seeing it change the live's of people all around me both as they give kindness and as they receive kindness. This book has great ideas for showing God's love in your community. My small group did the free car wash. People could not believe it! We told them no money and no donations were accepted. We had a major impact with some of the people.
