5.0 out of 5 stars Thes guys are so talented., July 19, 2007

Another verry well done album by Rotersand. As far as the Future Pop scene is conscerned, this is by far one of the most talented amongst them. Incredibly well done synth pop music, passionate vocals, zillions of synth layers over rthyms, all neatly tweeked together to give you an electronic eargasm. As a complete album, if you listen to the whole album from begining to end, ...this is just pure brilliance. Rotersand are one of the only future pop bands that can hold the respect that Covenant, and VnV Nation have, and yet they don't sound like copycats...Rotersand have created their own interpretation of the genre, and they do it quite well,...some might even debate that they do it better. Songs like "I CRy", "Lost", "don't know", and "shelter" are all garanteed to impress anybody who is a fan of this kind of music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Immersive Album, October 17, 2008

This review is from: 1023 (Audio CD)
The first time I listened to this album I have to say initially I was just looking for a fix of a good new song. I found it in Rushing and then it spilled over into Don't Know. At the time I had no idea what I was depriving myself of. As others have mentioned, the songs are great individually but where it really shines is as a complete album front to back. Much in the same way that Crossroads from MIAB is truly stellar as a full album listen.

For me Rotersand sounds a bit like listening to EBM while on drugs, with a broad range of vocal placement and sounds that just come in and out of nowhere that change up the tempo of the songs. I find more than with any other album I'm always checking the volume to see if I turned it up because of all the sound fluctuations, but its just the way they produced the album to be perceived and they did a brilliant job on that end as well.

Like every album though there are always standouts and for me the first 4 songs really do it for me (Given Time, Rushing, Don't Know, Lost) also "the gods have gone insane" and "meaning is the drug" both standout for me too. Although there are so many good songs in different ways that I wouldn't be surprised if someones favorite songs weren't any of these.

If you're a fan of any of the bigger names in Futurepop or EBM like Covenant or VNV Nation this is definitely an album to check out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning masterpiece of electronica, April 28, 2008

Rotersand produce another wonderful album. They cross several sub-genre boundaries but stay firmly planted in electronica. Most songs are future-pop and I believe they sound closest to Covenant and VNV Nation - but both albums have elements of EBM (Eco), and slower electronica ballads (some of SNOG's slower songs, but wider & more dynamic). The songs range from the driving heart thumping club beats to spine tingling journeys. This (as well as their previous release "Welcome to Goodbye") is definitely meant to be listen to as an ALBUM, not a collection of singles. Listen to it from beginning to end, in order to appreciate it's true brilliance, and emotional weight.
