DO YOU WANT TO PLAY TACTICAL BATTLEFIELD ELECTRONIC WARFARE??, January 25, 2009
This review is from: EW 103: TACTICAL BATTLEFIELD Communications Electronic Warfare [With CDROM and Free Space Attenuation] (Hardcover)
Are you responsible for the efforts of Electronic Warfare (EW) engineers and technicians? If you are, then this book is for you. Author David L. Adamy, has done an outstanding job of writing the third book in a series that focuses on the practical aspects of electronic warfare against enemy communications signals.
Adamy, begins by discussing dB values and formulas. Next, the author deals with communications signals, including analog modulations, digital modulations, low probability-of-intercept modulations. Then, he covers the types of antennas used in communication and communication EW. The author then describes the types of receivers used for communication and for the intercept of communication signals. Next, he discusses radio propagation. He also describes how to go about doing search techniques. In addition, the author also describes the location of hostile communication transmitters. Next, the author covers the intercept of communications signals--both normal and low probability-of-intercept modulations. Finally, the author shows you how to do communications jamming.
This most excellent book is all about tactical battlefield communication in the VHF, UHF, and low-microwave frequency changes. More importantly, the purpose of communications here, is to take information from one point to some distant point.
