5.0 out of 5 stars This is a wonderful toy for boarders of any kind!
When I first saw the box marked 1080* Snowboarding, I passed it by, thinking I had millions, trillions of choices in that video store gaming section... well, okay maybe two other choices. There was Mariokart 64, and Glover 64 (both of which I already own). I paid my $5 (not even wanting a game, it was just the rebelion against my parents money). I had never even heard...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not quite what I remembered
I use to play this AGES ago and use to be pretty good. I started playing it again and I now found that the controls (at least for me) don't seem very forgiving. In order to do tricks you have to place the toggle in the exact correct place (at least pretty spot on). You also have to land in a specific position or else you crash (too many crashes makes it so you can't...

I had never even heard of this game before, let alone played it. So, I took it home slapped in to my year old n64 (I bought it 2 weeks before the price went down $50) and turned it on. Man, that was some wicked graphics!!! It showed a couple of snowboarders doing awesome tricks all over my big screen tv. I played the different parts af the game including my favorites: trick mode and vs. mode. I got to be very good at my tricks in these two courses: The Pipeline, which is a half tube of snow that you can do many jumps on, and The Big Jump, where you have a jump that gives you about 20 seconds to do any tricks you want! It is a five star game!!! It is extremely challenging with many secret riders, boards, and tracks (all of which you get to choose every time)!!! Over all, even for a person that has never even gotten on any kind of board, Nintedo is at it's top!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest snowboarding game ever!, November 5, 2000

This review is from: 1080 Snowboarding (Game Cartridge)
1080 Snowboarding has all the key factors in it to make it the best snowboarding, perhaps even one of the best sports games ever made.

Granted, it has some minor flaws, like only six courses (plus Air Make, and half-pipe), and some might find the landing system incredibly hard, but if you can brush those small drawbacks aside, what you'll find is a terrific, extremely fun to play game that offers much more than meets the eye.

The game's five main boarders, plus three hidden ones to choose from offer plenty of variety and differences so that everyone can have a favorite person (mine being Dion for his speed and power).

There are four available courses at the begging of the game, but two can be uncovered if you beat the match race part of it, Dragon Cave and Deadly Fall. The courses are varied and challenging, in my opinion, Golden Forest is the best.

The many options in 1080 would include trick attack, time attack, 2 player versus, contest, and training mode.

All in all, 1080 Snowboarding is aboved and beyond what I expected from it, plenty to keep the average gamer going for quite a while. It's a must buy for any gamer's N64 library, period.

It hooks you. It is fun to play by yourself or with a friend. Master the races given to you and more will be added. Learn to do tricks. If you get a 720 your opponents will be stunned. Get it and try it. It's great.

For those of us who cannot make it to the mountains and slide down the hill knocking skiers out of the way, this is the next best thing (without the skiers). From tail-grabs in the half pipe to full course head to head boarding, this game is a fun way to get that boarder inside of you to let loose without the chance of hitting a tree. (Of course when you do in the game you flinch too!!) You've got a choice of boarders with different skills and strengths and then based on the boarder you chosse, you match them up with a board. My suggestion is to choose the best balance of all skills in your boarder and all board capabilities. (When you're going head to head get a board that can turn well and goes really fast!!) The half pipe is the most fun and when you finally pull off a 1080.........YEAH!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Buy for everyone's N64 Collection..., December 25, 2000

Once you get the hang of the controls, this game is awesome... it's challenging and entertaining, and everyone should have one.

This game has amazing graphics-- you can even see the snow spray off the board when you make the slightest turn. Plus, the camera controls are flawless. The sound track is pretty good, too- you can hear the snowboard scraping and the snowboarders sometimes talk, and the techo tracks that accompany the races are pretty cool too.

My only complaint is that there aren't enough courses. After I unlocked the 6 courses and beat the "Black Diamond" level, there wasn't much else to do. But even after you've unlocked all the courses, it's still fun to play against your friends in the 2 Person VS mode, or doing tricks in the half pipe.

I think that anyone who has a N64 should add this game to their collection, without a doubt... it's a solid game, and you won't regret it.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: 1080 Snowboarding (Game Cartridge)
I am twelve and have never set foot on a snowboard. I'm a skier, well, sort of. I played nagono winter olympics because it had skiing and I was bored out of my mind in minutes. So I decided to rent this game because it was almost always out at blockbuster and it was not a new game. It is one of the best video games, all systems EVER. This game does not require any previous snowboarding knowledge. And it has a challenging one player mode and an excellent 2 player mode that doesn't get boring. It doesn't matter if you prefer Elmo's Number Parade of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, you will like this game. This and Smash Brothers are the best multiplayer games EVER. You have to atleast rent it.

1080 is by far the best snowboarding game there is. It has many options (Match Race, Tricks, etc.) The graphics are very real and how the snowboarders fall are very real too. The cources are fun and are filled with challenges. Their are only a couple of minor flaws. The later cources are very hard to unlock and when you're playing against a friend, if he doesn't own the game, or if hasn't mastered the skill of snowboarding yet, then you're going to burn him. Overall though, it's a must buy for any N64 owners.
