I bought this a couple of months ago after we remodeled the master bath as a birthday gift for my wife. I just installed it while she was at work. Like others, I had done my research and decided to go with the more expensive Brookstone unit. While everyone seems to like the light, I was also influenced by prior experience with the quality of their products. Not this time.

The escutcheon is a cheap stamping that flexes under the weight of the extended light. The arms are not level (and cannot be tweaked). The knuckles are loose fitting, have a raw, scratchy metal-on-metal feel and, again, cannot be adjusted. I would return it except I cut off the cord and adapted it for mounting directly to a wall box I installed during the remodel. The modifications did not cause any of the cited problems. It is simply a poorly made product that I am stuck with. What was intended as a surprise for my wife will now be an embarrassment until I feel flush enough to replace it with a unit that has the qualities that I thought I was buying this time: good design, materials, engineering and manufacture; smooth operation and a tight and substantive feel. For the time being, I can only hope that the light and the mirrors themselves live up to the other reviews.

This is a fabulous makeup mirror. The light is a very cold blue and takes a second to turn off and on. But it does dim as needed. The arm might be a little short. But over all I would highly recommend this product to friends.

If you're a perfectionist or a little obsessive compulsive (hello!), this is the mirror that you're looking for. There's a regular side and a 10x concave side. Both are lit all the way round by a "daylight" quality light that has a dimmer switch. The brightness is AWESOME and it's super easy to mount on the wall via a rear attachment bracket.

This mirror is perfect for putting makeup on or plucking those blonde hairs that are normally tough to see. Be careful to mount it somewhere where sun doesn't reach at any time of the day remembering that a curved mirror can also act like a focus (think magnifying glass) and with sunlight might light something in the room on fire.

I know it's one of the more expensive mirrors listed, but there's a reason that you pay more for the perfect items. Don't bother with the cheapies - save yourself the hassle! This is the mirror you're looking for!

I spent hours looking online for what i thought would be a good light for me and I was not disappointed with this one from Brookstone. It is excellent with the magnification as well as the natural light.

This looks very nice in your home & is also very practical. I highly recommend it.

Purchased this mirror for my wife, who was anxious to have one. Did a lot of research on the web, and elsewhere, and this rose to the top. Very high quality, good size, and the light performed as it should. The mounting hardware however, as another reviewer wrote, was totally inadequate. Be prepared to spend a little extra time getting it mounted properly. Other than that, excellent!

This mirror exceeded my expectations. Originally, I had purchased the Jerdon oval mirror, despite bad reviews. When I received it damaged, I decided to give the Brookstone mirror a try. This mirror was packaged very well. The chances of it being shipped damaged are probably slim.

The light is very bright and strong, which was my first requirement. My bathroom is very dark and the mirror needs to provide the single source vanity light for makeup application. It even has a dimmer dial to use it for ambient lighting.

Installation was a snap. All hardware was provided. Had it up in 10 minutes. It's very sturdy and enhances the appearance of my industrial-looking bathroom.

I would definitely recommend this as a gift item for the person who has everything.

I ordered this mirror as a nice touch for my remodeled bathroom. Please note this mirror and mount are quite thick and if your looking for a lighted wall mirror with a slim design you should probably look elsewhere. In addition, this is a plug in model and I had thought it was hard wire model. I may have overlooked this when factoring in my other requirements for the mirror.

Overall though the mirror was of good quality and the light did appear bright enough for me. The 10X is too much magnification for me though and will look for only a 5X magnification in the mirror I ultimately choose.

10x magnification is quite high, in retrospect a lower "high" magnification would probably be more comfortable to use,
but mirror is good quality, well lit and arrived packaged very well.

Hardly 13".
Far too short to use over a vanity table.
Extremely disappointed.
