Book Description

March 5, 2009
A child arrives with great celebration, only to leave years before expected. Confusion sets in. Grief coats the day with darkness and the choice becomes ours: independent of each other, and selfish on our parts. Does time really have a way of softening the pain endured after a great loss? This is a mom's story of an ongoing healing of the heart, spirit, and soul. It gently opens the possibility of the reason for our purpose, and the grander scope of how we are all connected threads in a universal blanket of faith, hope, and love. Angels and miracles come in many shapes, sizes, and happenings. Openness of our eyes, hearts, and minds, are key in accepting events out of our control, as we gather the strength to continue to serve our life's purpose. Embrace your sadness with others, knowing that you are not alone. Journey with this messenger, in hopes that you, too, shall feel the warmth of the light, at the end of the tunnel. Doing the work and fulfilling your divine life's quest.

About the Author

Lori Drube and her husband, Chuck, currently live in Connecticut. She has been blessed with 4 very healthy, happy, amazing daughters over the past 29 years. As a teacher of children with special needs, she always believed that God would choose her to have that one child who required more TLC than what each child deserves. That child didn't arrive on its birth date. That very special child appeared after being diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma at the age of 12. Her first born daughter, Erin, courageously battled many challenging years of this cancer; chemotherapy, bone replacement surgery, relapse, amputation, stem cell transplant and radiation, and triumphantly emerged into the Light one warm winter day. Lori gives thanks each waking hour, for the lessons learned and the love given during those terrifying years, to her husband, her children, her family, her friends, God and most of all to her Heavenly Angel, Erin. "It's just not right to bury your child before you."

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful story, beautiful pictures, April 1, 2009
This review is from: 11 Angels: Healing After Your Child Dies (Paperback)
As a mother of a child who had cancer and passed away, I thought this was a beautifully written story. This author did what I have been unable to do for years which is write her daughter's story (in my case my son's) and thank all those who have touched their lives during their cancer journey. The author also told this story using her daughter's voice which I thought was very creative. It is a heartwarming and very touching book. The sunflowers throughout the book are beautiful and effective. It is a wonderful tribute to her daughter and I would recommend this book to those who have shared the same or similar experience. Thank you for sharing your story.
