3.0 out of 5 stars Some useful information
As I stated in my title, this book has some useful information. Even though I was not sure exactly what I wanted to learn from it, I did not expect to see a large quanity of high tech mathmatical information. I just did not see why one needed to know this or how it helped the general purpose of the book. Maybe I'm just not into that sort of stuff. I did learn some...

5.0 out of 5 stars On 11:11, March 18, 2009
This review is from: 11:11 the Time Prompt Phenomenon: The Meaning Behind Mysterious Signs, Sequences, and Synchronicities (Paperback)
Before purchasing this book I read the one critical assessment it had by "Donna King". Since the subject matter is of interest to me and despite her criticism, I purchased and read the book anyway. After having read it, I felt like Ms. King and I read different books! Numbers and their uses throughout the universe are at the core of our very being (our DNA for instance), aid in the development of our understanding of ourselves, the ever expanding universe and how previous and future generations have and will use numbers for mankind's development. This book integrates all of these subjects and more into a cohesive and thought provoking education. I think that it is laughable that the previous criticism states that it "did not expect to see a large quantity of high tech mathematical information". Since when have the Fibonacci spiral or the Golden ratio etc. been considered "High Tech"?

As an Agnostic searching for viable, meaningful alternatives into the discussion of the "shape" of God, this book offers an unpopular yet intelligent alternative viewpoint worth considering!

While this book didn't answer my questions about the pervading manifestation of "11:11" in my life, it has suggested what the possibilities of its presence could very well mean. I highly recommend this book for those interested in exploring how important numbers are throughout our lives!

4.0 out of 5 stars All is Number - Pythagoras, April 13, 2009

This review is from: 11:11 the Time Prompt Phenomenon: The Meaning Behind Mysterious Signs, Sequences, and Synchronicities (Paperback)
This is a nice survey of numbers and their possible spiritual significance. The "time prompt phenomenon" is not explored thoroughly, but seems to be used as a hook to enter into the idea of numbers as spiritual signposts. In chapter 1, the authors state "there is no scientific proof" about the time prompt phenomenon, but do address many peoples ideas. Then, the authors launch into the book itself touching on the following topics:
Ch. 2 on the various base systems with one interesting note on why our numbers have their shapes.
Ch. 3 touches on the Golden Ratio, Fibonacci numbers, Kepler, harmonics, music, architecture, and ley lines.
Ch. 4 works with the ideas three and five.
Ch. 5 touches on 13, 7, 23, 666, and kernels.
Ch. 6 is on numerology.
Ch. 7 discusses the coincidences of life's events and numbers.
Ch. 8 Sir Martin Rees book on the essential 6 numbers.
Ch. 9 Numerical Oddities.
Ch. 10 How to see God in numbers.

The authors jumping off point on this subject is "there is a divine influence and connection between..." numbers and everything else. They broad stroked the subject enough to allow anyone a flight of fancy to read further.

If you are like me and have been seeing the number sequences 11:11 or 111 then you would naturally gravitate to this book looking for answers. This book should come with a warning " For Brainiacs Only!" I suspect the authors only wrote this book so they could show off their higher education (or pay off their higher education.) Filled with mathematical formulas and lots of Quantum physics it still offered no definitive answer to the 11:11 time prompt question.

5.0 out of 5 stars good book, March 19, 2009
This review is from: 11:11 the Time Prompt Phenomenon: The Meaning Behind Mysterious Signs, Sequences, and Synchronicities (Paperback)
11:11 by Marie Jones makes sense. I see all kinds of numbers all day long - 11:11, birthdays, license plates - I think I'll win lottery money but never do - doesn't work that way. This stuff happens I think because our unconscious mind self references - thats a birthday important to ME, 333 is important to ME, I made this date or number important to ME. Call it Carl Jung synchronicity but we want to feel we have a niche and make a mark we're so small compared to the infinite universe. Call this angels or tricks of even demons!!! Who knows but with religions you can't win - you can say the devil's demons is fooling everyone with 11:11 or you can say God exists and the afterlife will be nice for everyone - people claim they know this stuff, but do they really? We're all on a level playing field you know!

1.0 out of 5 stars You won't get any answers from this book, June 7, 2011

After the second chapter it became apparent that this book was a series of wikipedia, blog and some other books research project. The real SLAP IN THE FACE came when I reached 84% of the book read in my kindle and found this conclusion written by the authors:

"Seeing 11:11 on the clock day after day, night after night, is not coincidental. It is not just a random event that miraculously keeps repeating. It happens for a reason. Unfortunately, we still don't know what that reason is."

Basically you get teased all through out the book to be told that the authors don't know the meaning of any combinations in the end!

This review is from: 11:11 the Time Prompt Phenomenon: The Meaning Behind Mysterious Signs, Sequences, and Synchronicities (Paperback)
Kudos to Marie and Larry for writing this important book. There is more going on in the universe than there is an understanding of what is going on. The minute we think we know it all, there is more to know. In the not too distant past, as recently as the 1920s', physicists believed everything important had already been discovered and that there was nothing left. How wrong they were. Today, there is a more open attitude about possibilities, but still within severely restricted limits. Inflexible prejudices still exist concerning the unexplained. Like The Catholic Church during the time of Galileo, it is now the scientist, believing in his own infallibility as the guardian of revealed truth, who is afraid to gaze into the telescope, fearing that his comfort zone will be turned upside down. In the background, you can even hear the chorus of voices chanting: "RECANT-RECANT"!

This book presents some of the most interesting concepts of numbers and the profound meaning they have in our universe, world, religion and everyday lives. Regardless of your beliefs about numerical concepts, 11:11 presents both sides and creates a compelling argument for both points of view. One of the best reads I have had in a long time. Marie D. Jones and Larry Flaxman are two of the foremost experts in the paranormal field and both are outstanding authors in their own right. Can't wait to see many more books from this creative duo! "The Resonance Key" is right around the corner!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book for those curious about this mysterious phenomenon., February 9, 2010

This review is from: 11:11 the Time Prompt Phenomenon: The Meaning Behind Mysterious Signs, Sequences, and Synchronicities (Paperback)
If you're reading this review, you are more likely than not someone who has experienced the "11:11 Phenomenon" for yourself. You see it all the time... on clocks, receipts, license plates, etc. to the point that you almost start to feel like you're going crazy. And all the while, there's a small voice in the back of your head that keeps asking, "What is it? What am I supposed to figure out? Am I the only person having this experience?"

Hundreds of websites and numerous books are proof enough that thousands, possibly millions of people are sharing this experience with you. Of these books, this is the one I would recommend. When investigating strange phenomena like this, it's easy to jump on the "woo-woo" express and find yourself in a territory so alien and strange to you that you don't know what to believe. That's what's great about "11:11, The Time Prompt Phenomenon": it takes a pragmatic, almost scientific approach to the matter, yet keeps the door open to the mystic realm at the same time. This is not a book that preaches to the "New Age" choir, rather it dissects the different elements of the 11:11 phenomenon and studies them in a calm and relaxed way. Coincidence? Check. Numerology? Check. Shared Public Perception? Check. Synchronicity? Check.

In other words, what this book does is demystify the mystical. It creates a safe place for your mind to ponder abstracts and superstitions without either ridiculing them or endorsing them. You will learn much about other mathematical formulas and theories that have relayed a sense of religious awe ever since mathematics were invented. If you have a mind that asks lots of questions, this book will provide you with plenty of answers. Highly recommended.

Eric Rankin, author of the novel "The Aquarians."

3.0 out of 5 stars Time prompt not explored thoroughly, July 14, 2009
This review is from: 11:11 the Time Prompt Phenomenon: The Meaning Behind Mysterious Signs, Sequences, and Synchronicities (Paperback)
I enjoyed reading this book as it had some useful information. However it did not satisfy my search for some answers. It provides you with some intriguing theories, one being that all is number. It opened some new doors and it was intersting to explore what was behind them. However as you read on the book becomes more and more technical and the authors almost solely give you lots of mathematical information which I didnt find a bit helpful (maybe because I was never very good in math).
