Book Description

Most everyone has been, or will be, one half of a budding romantic relationship at least once—but not everyone knows how to successfully navigate those first-date butterflies, the potentially steamy bedroom scenes, and the ever-feared crushing moments of betrayal. 11 Points Guide to Hooking Up serves as a manual to dating, relationships, and sex—and is a wildly entertaining read for people who are single, taken, young, old, gay, straight, or anywhere in between. Creator Sam Greenspan blends his quirky humor, attuned sense of popular culture, and entertaining approach to produce thought-provoking lists about the ins and outs of dating. Prepare to take notes and laugh out loud with 11 Points Guide to Hooking Up.

Do yourself a favor and get this book, hilarious! Forget Chelsea Handler, Dave Barry or even that obnoxious guy Tucker whatever, Sam Greenspan is the new voice in what is funny and is spot on with his advice.

I couldn't put it down and kept laughing out loud and reading parts to my friends, and it is really heartfelt at times. Can't wait for his next book!!!!

Have always enjoyed the blog and the book definitely met my expectations. I love that I can flip open to any page and have a laugh. The pop culture references, odd thoughts and observational humor make for a very fun read. I recommend buying one for you and one for a friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Could not stop laughing July 20, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is honestly one of the funniest books I've ever read. I read the whole book in 2 days because I couldn't put it down. The author stirs humor with practical advice, and the end result is a stew so tasty you'll want to eat it over and over again. Greenspan often uses observational comedy to make his points, and he's found the perfect way to turn that comedy into guidance. He also cleverly uses footnotes as punchlines to jokes, and as a result, I spit out my coffee several times.

If you want to laugh so hard that you eventually fall to the floor, buy this book.

Even though I'm now an Old Married Lady, I thought this book was great. It's ostensibly an advice book, but the humor hits home for anybody who is or has been on the dating scene. I've been a fan of Sam's 11 Points blog for years, and the book did not disappoint. I laughed out loud over and over.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally! Rational advice for the normal person June 26, 2011
By eas
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Forget the Game, the Rules, the "He's just not that into you", Greenspan boils down the finer points of dating and relationships to rational, easy to follow advice. There's nothing tricky about his (hilarious) advice and thoughts. I have implemented a few of his suggestions with good results. Read it -- if nothing else, it will be a good laugh.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the Blog, love the book August 8, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Sam Greenspan is an underrated comedy writer, and I think this book may be his breakthrough hit. It combines great humor and references right on the edge of most people's nerdy knowledge with actually helpful advice from firsthand knowledge. If you're looking for dating advice, or are looking for a good funny read, buy this.

4.0 out of 5 stars hysterical, totally worth it
Very funny, useful tips and stories about hook-up culture, and the author manages to avoid the outright arrogance (READ: douchiness) of, say, Tucker Max. Highly recommend it.
