Good ...but not ALL because some are GREAT,

Finding good Smooth Jazz being released today is hard to do (seems to me that most of it came out between 1993 - 2003). So, I went for this one and a some others that were released in 2005 and found compared to others that were rated 5 stars, "110 Degrees and Rising" is as good as if not better!!! There are songs on "110 Degrees and Rising" that draw you in, stick with you and have you coming back, i.e. catchy but unique and mind spelling melodies and superb compositions that not only sound good but are innovative and classic (will sound just as good 10 years from now). For that reason, this CD is deserving 5 Stars even though not all the songs are good as far as Smooth Jazz goes but the ones that are (to me that is about 4 or 5), are great. If you want more Smooth Jazz masterpieces, get this one from the brilliant Mr. Kevin Toney (he has an addicting style).

The best stuff i've heard in a long time,
This review is from: 110 Degrees & Rising (Audio CD)
It was phenomenal. I disagree with the person from texas. this album incorporated classical, gospel, and funk, and it was innovative and nothing like i had ever heard. His piano chops are amazing, of course, and there's a lot of variety on this cd, so if you wanna jam out or mellow out, you have options. I can't wait to see what he does next.

Hello once again, it's me Iceman8 with another review about an album I purchased from Amazon. The album that I acquired is "110 degrees & rising" by Kevin Toney. To be totally honest, when I saw the cover I got a bit afraid because it does not really portray a jazz CD. I know that this statement might seem a little pre-judging but I'm being honest, remember? This album starts with a nice solid beat and from there it takes off in an explosion of soft, but hip jazz that sooths the senses, then rocks the head, sooths you again, rocks you again then ends in prayer just with the piano. HEAR ME AND HEAR ME GOOD, if you like jazz, YOU WANT THIS CD, PERIOD! Thank you.
