Product Description

A Coast Guard modification of a highly successful British-designed patrol boat, the 110-Foot Island Class Patrol Boat is re-created in stunning detail. With excellent range and sea-keeping capabilities, the Island Class cutters, all named after U.S. islands, replaced the older 95-foot Cape-class patrol boats. The primary mission of these cutters is Maritime Law Enforcement. This includes drug and illegal alien interdiction, Port Security, Search and Rescue and Defense Readiness operations. Built in the late 1980s, they are equipped with advanced electronics and navigational equipment.

Now you can take up Maritime Law Enforcement with this Full-Function Radio Control 1:48 Scale 110-Foot Island Class USCG Patrol Boat. This huge craft goes forward, in reverse and moves right and left. The large dual propellers allow you to cruise the pool or pond at a steady clip. Features tons of extra details, like the open bridge, mast, seven Coast Guard crew figures, crane and small boat and 25mm machine gun on the deck. Operate this R/C boat from up to a range of 300 feet. There's even a dry dock stand to display your Patrol Boat when its not in the water. Plus, each replica can be personalized with cutter name and hull number. At 1:48 scale, this boat measures approximately 28 inches long. Requires 1 "9V" alkaline battery (not included) and 8 "AA" alkaline batteries (not included) or 9.6V Ni-Cd rechargeable battery pack and charger (not included).

The NKOK Model/ Toy USCG Island Class Patrol Boat is a pretty good model. Buyers beware, this is close to a scale model and needs to be treated and maintained like one. This means you cannot just take it out of the box, give it to your chid and run it in your pool or pond. As a long time RC Model Boater one learns that there is no boat where the propellor shafts are competely sealed against water getting in . You must after each usuage set the boat up on end take tissue and wrap it around props where shafts join and let water drain out and wick into tissue. Also it is highly recommended to buy a good grade of Wet Bicycle Chain oil, for use in wet enviornments, dropper it into where the shaft comes out of the motor, hand rotate the propellor forwards and reverse to work the oil in . This boat has had problems with wires inside coming un sodered , the deck does remove but its a time consuming process, better to sent it back to NKOK in Los Angeles under warrantee repair. I have had my boat now for about 2 years and with proper care it works just fine, yes water does get into the motor housings , but the oil mostly keeps it out. The smaller scale NKOK USCG Motor Lifeboat model requires similar care.I sail both of these with other model boating friends on a larghe pond all summer long. Nate Goodman Salt Lake, Utah.

Perfectly detailed and realistic features. People are constantly stopping to admire the boat, ask where we purchased it and the price. Our favorite remote control. Very fast in the water and has a long range of 300 feet. Well worth the money. It will last a long time and provide hours of fun.

I think anybody should by this. It never sinks and it's super cool! It has sweat details! don't miss out on one of the coolest RCs yet.
