Book Description

My books are all easy reads. In fact you can read them even if you are in a crisis and often in one sitting.
They are all full of questions, statements and short sentences as well as quotes, not to mention lots of help to finding your way and stay on track to well-being.
They all have lots of room for contemplation and your own notes.

"110 Ways to Spot a Toxic Person" is a concise and clear manual on how to identify and deal with the people in our lives that leave us feeling anywhere from "ICKY" to down-right abused. I already knew who most of the people in my own life were from the moment I saw the title. However, this little book completely validated what my guts knew to be true. I no longer have to wonder if I am crazy! Thanks to the authors for making it so simple to live in a new way! I am confident you will feel empowered to get rid of that influence in your life and DE-TOX from them one by one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Everyone needs to read this book!!! March 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I finished reading 110 Ways to Spot a Toxic Person in a single sitting, and then immediately began to read it a second time. I ended my toxic marriage of 16 years about 6 months ago when I threw her out and kept the kids, and after near 5 months of depression I realized I was happy to be free. Reading this book added truth and knowledge to my joy, further empowering me! I took back the lives of myself and my boys, and we will heal and be stronger for it! In reading, I was amazed, I cried, and I felt strength. Thank you! I only wish I had read this YEARS ago. Already recommended it to two of my dearest friends, they need to read it now! This book has really helped solidify my resolve and understand why I couldn't end it for all those years, an understanding I so desperately needed. Once again, THANK YOU! Even men can be victims of domestic abuse...

I highly recommend this book to everyone, even if you're not in an abusive/toxic relationship, because everyone should have the knowledge to identify a toxic person. FIVE STARS!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!! March 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book really helped me understand what a toxic person really is and WHY I seem to attract them. Now, the next time they are attracted to me I know how to spot them and will have the ability to get away from them.

All I can say is: THANK YOU for writing this and THANK YOU for giving me the opportunity to read it for free and HEAL.

1.0 out of 5 stars is this a greeting card? July 30, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am sorry to seem unkind, but I felt as if I were reading a Susan Politz Shultz card form the 70's! I am disappointed. As one who treats abuse victims I was looking for some lay analysis, some mom and pop strategies, some, any kind of insight-- a resource for them to chew on -- not just a laundry list of things my clients already know!

And the amount of white space on the page felt deceptive! I literally read 55% of it during a trip to the ladies' room! I felt as though this was a pamphlet and some marketer said, " this title looks catchy-- let's bulk up the page count and see we whether can sell it as a book";! Go back, work harder, do better!

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful content March 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was irritated by the format at first, until it dawned on me that the title actually says "110 ways..."; and that's what you get.

This is not a book filled with long chapters. It's 110 short phrases that each is very powerful. If you're close to a toxic person, you'll know it after having read this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste the money July 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is a waste. Too many empty pages or pages with one or two sentences. Nothing of substance at all. A complete disappointment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheri Coleman - Just Say NO To Toxic Relationships March 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
WOW!!!!! 110 Way To Spot a Toxic Person was AWESOME!! I wish I had read this book about 5 years ago, it may have saved me a lot of heartache. As I read it (which I did in 1 setting) - I was amazed at how many of the steps I had experienced in my 2nd marriage - my ex will NEVER admit that he is toxic, but this book gave me validation of what I was feeling. I have shared this book on my FACEBOOK page called Just Say NO To Toxic Relationships as I believe that anyone men & women who have been in a toxic relationship of any kind need to read this book and arm themselves! We are NOT crazy! It's the abuser who is making us crazy!! There were many times that I was told that I was bi-polar, crazy, or it was my hormones etc. etc. It was NOT any of those things. It was my ex who was trying to control the situation - they like control and the minute the person being abused gets stronger, the abuser runs scared and believes things are getting out of control!!! My life may not be where I want it to be right now, but I am FREE and that is a great feeling! I am free to choose the person I want to spend the rest of my life and I won't be in a hurry and that person will not try and change me - they will LOVE ME just as I am, just like I will do the same for them!!! Thank you for writing this book!!!! :-)

This book was extremely well-written. It is in an easy-to-understand format and will be a benefit to many. Henriette's insight into the verbal abuser is incredible. This book pinpoints the patterns of the verbally abusive person. I have experienced the confusion, self doubt and hurt and wish I had this book year's ago. One of the wonderful things about the book is that it includes a checklist: Is this, or this, or this, for example, true of your relationship? It's a wonderful tool for those that know things don't feel right in their relationship, they just can't name what they feel. My experience is that many women in verbally abusive relationships don't know there's anything wrong happening. This book allows them to name a problem they've FELT but not had a name for. I avidly recommend this book so that you can see the real harm verbal abuse causes, along with diminishing your self esteem at every turn. Included in this book are a tremendous amount of resources to further explore verbal abuse. A Must Read!

5.0 out of 5 stars I lost myself for his love March 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I knew that this was an abusive relationship, but he had no one else so my compassion for him was endangering my self image. Soon he began belittling me and then came the physical violence. Still, I loved him so much I wanted to believe him when he cried and said never again, that he would leave before he hurt me again. And surely I had done something to cause this behavior. This book hit me like a body blow as it so accurately described my life and love. Now I must decide what to do, follow my heart or my gut. Great job and thank you.

More About the Author

I have come all the way from Verbal Abuse and Depression to Freedom and Happiness. In my books I share my journey in a way so you can do it too.
I open your eyes, your mind, and soul.

If I can do it so can you...

It took me 12 years to get out of a relationship and five more to figure out what happened. I hope to spare you all of that. And I hope to be able to make you aware of how you feel, and thus find the strength to not move in or to move on much sooner than I did because chances are - he won't change.
Almost anyone can become attracted to someone with a toxic personality. Almost anyone can get stuck in a bad relationship. Why? I answer that in my books, and it doesn't have to take you 12 years...

My books are all easy reads. In fact you can read them even if you are in a crisis and often in one sitting.
They are all full of questions, statements and short sentences as well as quotes, not to mention lots of help to finding your way and stay on track to well-being.

They all have lots of room for contemplation and your own notes.
