- they don't last - dead in 2 years

Bought for the kids' rooms, about 2 years ago and they no longer hold a charge. The flashlight portion no longer works. The nightlight works as long as it is plugged in, but for $13+ you can buy lots of night lights.
Called Jasco Products, they manufacture these with the GE brand name on them, but they offered ZERO solution.
These have a 1 year warranty so don't waste your money. GE needs to step up and protect their brand since Jasco Products is ruining their GE brand with inferior products.

Completely agree with other reviewer. After about a year, the flashlight stopped holding a charge, which makes this unit essentially worthless. Only the tiny LED nightlight bulb still works. The concept of this product is great (LED nightlight with emergency flashlight), but I'll be looking for another product that actually works - and so should you.

I read the two reviews about the short life. But they did not say they found a better product for the same price or less. Rechargeable products like this is common to only have a two year life. It works great when it is working. To get a longer battery life it needs to have a regulated battery charger, and/or a Lithium Ion battery. But this only adds to the cost. I am going to get two of these. It will be better then nothing for two years.

I have had this one for a long time. Way more than 2 years. I bought it at Walmart a long time ago, and am glad it is still available, because I would like to have a couple more of them. I keep it just inside the front door so that when I come in at night, have light to see the step inside the door. It's also nifty to always have a flashlight on the wall that I can just grab when I need it. All you have to do is unplug it and it is a flashlight. It's also handy when the power does go out of course, but haven't had that problem too often, and usually during the day when it does happen. Best of all, no batteries required!

The GE 11096 Power Failure LED product is exactly as described. The product works well and produces good night light illumination.
