I went from using the LED rope lights you find in stores at Christmastime to these. These are better quality, they have lights every 1 inch (the store lights had 2" spacing), and the LEDs in these lights point out the side of the rope. This is good for what I used it... I mounted mine to the ceiling and aimed them at a wall for a nice washout effect. Very cool product, came with the clips to mount!

I bought these lights for my new covered deck and it is a perfect lighting. the holders are thin plastic and needed help holding the lights in place but was well worth the money.
