I just LOVE this clock and night light. It fits a regular 110 plug and gives perfect night light for my tiny bathroom at night. The clock works off of its own battery, since I live in a motorhome, that is super handy, because the time is always right, whether I am plugged into electricity or not.

It lets me keep an eye on the time, in the bathroom, while I am getting ready to go somewhere.

To the reviewer that got a "dead" battery. Mine came with instructions that stated the battery was put in backwards, once you get the clock, you have to reverse the battery to make it work.

I used a common flat head screw driver to open the battery compartment without a problem at all. So I don't understand why everyone else refused to try a plain old screw driver on the battery compartment.

Amazon shows this on September 29th, 2010 as $95.25 but I only paid $7.97 at Walmart. I hope Amazon lowers the price.

I bought three of these LITTLE clock nightlights for my bathrooms. One came with a dead battery and it was a job and a half to replace it. The tiny battery cover must be twisted open with a coin but it's impossible to know when it has been "unlocked", so to speak, so it (and the battery) can be removed from the rear of the clock. It would be nice if the battery cover had a little finger grip rather than the poorly designed coin slot..(Never Happen...It's made in China).
The clock has an electroluminescent glow behind the clock face and is rather pleasing.

If they would fix the cover for easier battery access, I'd give the clock 5 stars but because of this problem, I think 3 stars is more than adequate. I wasn't happy with receiving the clock with a "dead" battery either.

These nite light clocks are so hard to find and at this great price I purchased two. Nice to take on travel. Don't need any other light at night.

Not much to say about this. It's a good combination analog clock and nightlight. My only issue with it is the battery cover can be a pain to open and close properly. And the battery cover is small enough that extra precautions need to be taken to avoid loosing it.

Like others, I could not remove the battery cover, not even the first time. Given this, the clock was totally useless, and had to be returned.

I looked forward to receiving this product. I could not get the back piece off. Then my fiance came home and spent about 20 minutes and still could not get the back piece off the battery section. We then decided to give up and return it. Nice idea, poor craftsmanship.

I had the same problem as previous reviewers with the battery cover. I ruined the first three clocks trying to get the battery case open. I returned them and got a fourth which after some difficulty was able to get the battery cover open and get it working. I just bought a fifth one and had the same problem. After carefully turning the cover with a coin I couldn't get the cover to come off. Finally I smashed the prong side of the clock down on a hard surface to try to loosen the cover and it only popped out about a millimeter. Just enough to get a fine-tipped tweezer along the side and pop it off, pulling the red tag out to activate the battery. I carefully replaced the cap and now have a working clock. The previous reviewer who suggested molding in a tab so the cap can be grabbed with a small pliers had the right idea. Don't the engineers at GE get it? How many of these clocks will get returned before they get the idea that a redesign is necessary? Answer? Just repackage the damaged clock and send it out again. The clock I just bought had perfect untampered packaging, but the battery cover looked like it was forced with a coin to open it by a previous customer.

This is exactly the product I was looking for, even when the power goes out the battery backup kicks in and you still have time & a nightlight!

My daughter had a night light clock and I looked all over for one as I wanted one also, I found it on amazon my favorite place to shop. I also found one more to my liking. I am very pleased with it. Sincerely, Karen

This product was misleading in size. It appeared much bigger in the ad. It also did not specify that it had to be plugged into an outlet.
