Lecrae shines...the rest is uneven,
By
This review is from: 116 Clique: The Compilation Album (Audio CD)
About half of the songs on this CD are by Lecrae; no one else has more than two songs. I worked at Kids Across America, a Christian camp for urban youth, and we played this CD into the ground. Here's the thing: even after hearing these songs many times every day for an entire summer, some of them STILL sound fresh. The best two are Breathe In Breathe Out by Lecrae and Act Out by This'l, although most of the rest are pretty good when played in moderation. Of course, I like faster, more complex songs, which is why I picked these two, but I See the Lord by Sho feat. Ray is a beautiful slower song as well. This is a good compilation, but remember that compilations aren't real albums, and so know what you're getting. Check out Real Talk by Lecrae and Holy Culture and Human Emergency by Cross Movement

Bang'n,
This review is from: 116 Clique: The Compilation Album (Audio CD)
The 116 Clique has by far the best lyrics in all of Christian rap. Let's be honest, most Christian rappers are lame. I'm a Christian, and proud of it, but most acts fall short in the lyrics department. Don't hate me for telling the truth. Every track on this cd brings the heat with fire lyrics, and smoke'n beats. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS CD! You can't go wrong with any cd from this Clique, and the best part is it's all word centered.

Not Explicit,
This review is from: 116 Clique: The Compilation Album (Audio CD)
This item is listed as explicit lyrics..This needs to be fixed. These guys are spreading the Word of Truth....I guess to the lost this would be explicit. Lecrae has a new CD coming out Sept 30....just a little PR.

I work with youth from time to time as a pastor. A friend of mine in Dallas recommended Lecrae to me and I've been hooked ever since. This compilation album is by far the best hip hop album the group has ever put out. I've never met anyone who didn't like at least one of the songs on it. Great album, great buy!

This album has me bumpin' it loud! I really love Act Out by Thi'sl and Carry Mine. Get Loose is another awesome track that I can't get enough of. I still have yet to listen to the whole album since I have it on shuffle and can't wait to hear more.
By the way, this album has no foul language. The only explicit thing about it is the love of God and the life changing message that is expressed throught the lyrics o if you like it or love it please click on the link down below near the bottom in the light blue box that says feedback if the album is still listed as having "Explicit Lyrics". God Bless!

I heard "breathe in, breathe out" for the first time on youtube, with a bunch of teens dancing on it.
Somebody, in the comments gave the name Lecrae so I searched on that guy and got revelations... I particularly cherish "Fanatic" and "In the streets" and actually feel proud to share this music with my kids (7 to 10) while commuting. We really love the words, and the type of christian rap.

If one likes Hip Hop and the word of God then I say it is a must have. I enjoy listening to it because of the reverent lyrics and the smooth and nice melodic beats.
