About the Author
Over the most prolific 20 years of his career, Raul Ruiz made more than 50 films: he claimed to write one in a weekend and shoot it the next week. He had had a similarly fruitful playwriting stint in his youth, completing 100 works in a little over five years. Between those two golden eras, during the 1970s, Ruiz fled Chile's Fascist coup and set up camp in Paris, where he lives and continues to work.
