Editorial Reviews

Every person on the planet walks around with opinions based on what they think they know. And those opinions direct how all of us act and react. But very few ever question the substance that forms those crucial opinions. Eternity's biggest battle isn't between good and evil... it is between truth and lies. From the very nature of truth to how our world began, from morality to religion, from population control to political correctness, from Israel to Islam, from atheism to God... our entire world runs on what we believe. Follow popular actor Kevin Sorbo (Hercules, Andromeda, Soul Surfer) as he introduces some of the world's leading minds as they tackle the world's 12 Biggest Lies.

I have to say that I throughly enjoyed this DVD and have already watched it twice. It is not surprising that a number of reviews are "scathing" as the view points expressed are going to highly annoy anyone that does not care to take the time to examine the facts for themselves. I found that the vast majority of the experts make their case from the standpoint of logic and give rational explanations behind their premises, and that they continually quote scientific studies or various researched findings. This video will provide some excellent material for further discussion and I personally plan on showing it to others as it will certainly provide a good conversation starter. I wish every parent would have their teenager or college student to take the time to listen to it carefully and give serious consideration to what is conveyed. Professional in it's presentation as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alternative Account We Seldom Hear March 21, 2012
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
This DVD provides opposing arguments to assumptions commonly heard in the media on 12 different issues. If you tend to be liberal, you aren't going to like these explanations, but it seems only reasonable that the opposing views be presented and considered.

If you think that truth is whatever works for you or that it's only fair that anything and everything be tolerated or that abortion is a compassionate solution, you will be enraged by these informative interviews and discussions. Other issues about Islam, population control, Israel, gender equality, the existence of God and the historical Jesus are presented.

The 12 Biggest Lies would be helpful for anyone learning to defend Judeo Christian values.

5.0 out of 5 stars Do not miss this! September 30, 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I have ordered a number of copies to distribute, including to our church's Assistant Pastor who is going to use it to teach a 12 week class to college students! My "Silver Eagles" group also watched and discussed it (individuals over 50 who are involved in social issues). I will be ordering more copies, as I do not want to be short-handed when I tell anyone about it.

I bought this for my kids ages 11 and 13 to watch. It covers the 12 most common lies we believe as a people and it really opens up your eyes. My kids were engaged the whole time and were talking about it months later. I highly recommend it not only for young adults but adults as well.

Sorbo discusses life issues from a logical point of view with the help of other thinkers. Is nice to hear other sides of issues free from too much emotional bias. This video will make you think some and would be a good tool for discussion groups I believe.

3.0 out of 5 stars Religious Propaganda, but great secular political research
This movie starts out claiming to embrace an objective truth. I started to wonder after "experts" in the movie referred to the Bible as "truth" a few times. Read more
