Contains aerial, visual and sound signals. When combined with handheld flares this makes a perfect kit for Coastal boaters. Created on the recommendation of safety experts that at least 6 aerial flares be carried. You only need to have been on a sinking boat once to recognize that it is prudent to carry more than the Coast Guard required minimum number of flares.

(6) High Performance 12-gauge red aerial flares (average 7 seconds, up to 500 ft, 16,000 candela), USCG approved day or nighttime signal
(1) Signal mirror (with hanging lanyard)
(2) whistles with lanyards (SOLAS approved 116 db at 1 meter)
(1) 1 oz. fluorescein dye marker - spreads quickly, easily seen from the air

A complete kit for a good price. Reasearch and actual rescue has shown mirrirs to be highly effective at signaling, and this kit gives you flares and whistles too. Worth the money.

I purchased this item in the event of a disaster. I carry it in my truck with other survival items. So many people are unprepared. I hope that I don't have to use a flare gun any time soon but if I can't be heard then I can at least be seen.

I haven't used it yet, but it seems reliable...always nice to have in your car just in case. The whistles work well and the mirror, although i haven't used it yet, seems reliable and easy enough to use.
