I ordered a few of these to carry in my bag in case of emergency. I ride the NYC subway everyday and you have to be prepared these days. I carry the lightsticks, a granola bar, and usually a bottle of water that I have. The lightsticks are lightsticks but they are shown here in a wrapper. The items arrived loose in a box with no wrappers. I suppose they will work just fine.

These lightsticks have helped us through more than a few power outages. The glow is good and the included string help to place the sticks on bathroom doorknobs, walls on a child's room / etc. The price is inexpensive, they are much safer than candles and sometimes last longer. Every family should have a stash of these.

Lightsticks are handy items to keep in your backpack or emergency kit. Great to pin on the kids at Halloween too. Keep some extras handy. Make sure to buy ones that have a string loop molded in.

I purchased an emergency preparedness kit from Quake Kare back in 2004 and the light stick was included. In 2004 they called the light stick the "lightsaver". Tonight we experienced a blackout and needless to say, I pulled out my emergency kit. I tried the light stick and to my surprise it still worked. The production date was 2004 and it had a shelf life of 4 years..but here we are 7 years later, and it worked great. The light stick lit up my entire hallway...I'm ordering more light sticks from Quake Kare because of the sticks extended performance.

What can you really say, snap it and it glows green. Performs as advertized. Falls a bit short of 12 hours.

Great item! I bought this item to put in my car's emergency kit! Good item to have...

These are staple items for emergency kits. These particular light sticks do work. Like another reviewer, mine came without the wrapper, but they did come with some great rubberized "string" that is exactly what you need to tie them up and really get good use out of them.

I put two in each car's glove compartment, plus four in our emergency bag, and each hiking backpack has one.

They arrived quickly, and having the extra string included was much appreciated.

They got to me in good time and work well - nice to have them on the road and in my RV
