An underated talent,
By A Customer
This review is from: 12 Inches of Snow (Audio Cassette)
Its a shame that when people hear the name Snow, the first thought that pops into theyre head is either Vannila Ice or 1 hit wonder.Because hes neither of those things. This guy does have some talent and this Cd proves it.He could go from soft rhymes to hardcore rhymes without missing a beat, and it takes real talent to do that.Which is more than i can say for 90% of the garbage that MTV plays now.Anyway check this cd out.My personal favorite is Lonely Monday Morning.

Snow is the greatest artist in the world. I love every track on this album. To me it seems like he wrote every song with his heart and not just to complete the CD. I have my favorites on this album. They are 1. Lady With A Red Dress 2. Ease Up 3. Informer 4. Hey, Pretty Love and all the rest are almost as good. This is the only album I have because I don't have money and most stores around here don't have his CD's. His songs are songs that I love to get up and dance to. I try my best to sing along but nope. If your a snow fan then this album should definitely be in your collection.

First off, Snow does not try to copy Vanilla Ice. Snow was given the name by MC Shan. If you know anything about him, it stands for Superb.Notorious.Outrageous.Whiteboy. So don't try to compare him with Vanilla Ice just because you think the names are similar!Second, as far as him singing the lyrics "dibby-dibby", you should also know that it is not Snow that sings those lyrics. If you would have seen the video for Informer, you would have have noticed that. While Snow was in prison, the lyrics were added to it. He didn't know until after he got out and the single was already in circulation. Now for the review. . . This CD has some of the best influential reggae stylings of that time. Because of Snow, the door was blown wide open for alot of other Reggae artists to make it to the main stream. It's got a good old "hip-hop, reggae, jazzy, kinda funky" feel to it! Snow was definitely ahead of his time. If you want a great CD to jam out to, this is the one to get!

This was a hot album back then!,

Snow's 1993 album was very good, and funky on many levels! His merging of rap with reggae is very well done here. I still like Informer and Girl I've Been Hurt. But one of my favorites here is the ballad Hey Pretty Love, with its smooth sounds. Champion Sound and Lonely Sunday Morning are easily influenced by Bob Marley a little bit. This was a very addictive and catchy record back then and I'd still hear it again today!

From the first time I heard Snow I realized my true destiny and that was to be the best dancer I could. His music inspires me to work harder and dance faster. From lunges to kicks I wish i could be snow's informer!

The Snow's Getting Deeper,

The most worthwhile little piece of shiny plastic I have everspent ( ) on. Snow's dancehall-reggea ryhmes are seriously some ofthe greatest lyrical and vocal stylings ever.. in comparison to any genre of music. His incredibly articulate speed-rap fuses each line into a barrage of tongue twisting vocals. Lot's of catchy favorites on the album - among the best are Informer, Runway, Champion Sound, and Girl I've Been Hurt. Definitely a MUST HAVE for anyone craving fast pased ryhmes and an innovative style. Snow was an UNDERATED SUPERTALENT way ahead of his time. END

Snow is GR8,

People dislike SNOW because they think he is a wannabe. I think it is just jealousy. You try adapting R&B and reggae and pop all into 1 style. I think his music is ingenious. He has a good voice anyway. He is from poverty and was able to make a living doing what he loves. Don't get mad cuz you can't. I was the first in Kentucky to have 12" of snow back in 93 and still love it. Have murder love and justuss as well as the greatest hits. Haven't bought mind on the moon or two hands clapping yet but plan to. And like the other person was saying its about music not fads. I LIKE VANILLA ICE TOO!

WHAT?!?!?,

This album is one of the best albums ever. I understand that some people don't like his music and I understand that. What the thing is that everybody finds one artist, or style, or even both. When they do that, they say screw everything else. They say that Snow and Vanilla Ice are the worst ever, but I like them both(Old and new). I like ICP and Eminem. I like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Phil Collins. I like old and new. I like Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's all a fad thing to people, but if I like it, I'm gonna listen to it. Most people don't say they like Snow or Vanilla Ice because they're afraid to be mocked. I like the music for the music, not the name. I try to be a musician, but since I like so much stuff, I can't settle on one sound, but the only thing I really can do is rap. I can even sing a few of Snow's songs along with him. I got my first Snow album a few years ago, which was this one, and I've tried to collect them all since then. I only have Murder Love, Mind on the Moon, and of course this. I have relatives in Canada who could probably help me find all of the rest. Especially Two Hands Clapping because that's the next one I want. I can get Justuss really cheap online. Snow is my favorite artist ever and will always be, but I'm open to other artists too. Now, buy this album and listen to the best thing the 90's ever had, but took for granted. Thanx a lot, because now I have to get his albums imported to buy them. Peace out!
