Well, being born in Iran, I have had my share of Persian Caspian sea caviar, which is supposedly the best type (and of course expensive). Compared to that AND considering the price, I like it a lot. I enjoyed every bit of my purchase, and will buy more.

I first tasted this on a burger I bought in New Orleans (the store was called Yo Mama!!!), and liked it so much I asked them to show me what Caviar brand it is. Took a picture with my iPhone. I tried to find it in stores in my (rather small) town, and when I couldn't find one around had to resort back to Amazon. The packaging is good, and before you open it doesn't need to be stored in the fridge, hence the postal through Amazon works out.

I bought this after reading reviews (especially liked the Iranian comments!). Friends and I had four different caviar. The difference between this and a $34./oz American sturgeon was undetectable! A second American Sturgeon ($30./oz but $25. shipping costs) was slightly less salty, so preferred by some. Japanese tobikko at $20./oz was 'sweeter'. All of them had similar texture/egg size/freshness. For the money AND taste, this is an excellent choice.
I know there are reviewers who 'slam' this caviar as too salty. I can only remind them that American paddlefish, 'masquerading' as Russian caviar, took first in a blind taste test ('experts' judging) years ago. When the fraud was discovered, everyone had egg on their face (bad pun, but I love it!) except the counterfeiters who'd been selling it to high end restaurants for years!
I think food snobs, like wine snobs, are sometimes overly critical as an attempt to show their smarts. This is a really good caviar and at the price a fantastic buy! I'll definitely get it again.

The three reviews already published offer splendid five star endorsements that match my experience so I am submitting this only for the purpose of offering further assurance for anyone who may be wavering. It is an outstanding caviar at this price or even at a much higher one and you can make twelve ounces of this flavorful caviar go pretty darn far. I am hooked.

Great quality, Amazing taste, and a wonderful price. Don't waste your time looking elsewhere. This is the best quality for your money.

I want to note that my issue may not be with this specific product and may simply be I don't like lumpfish caviar but I assumed I would get a good tasting, affordable product but what I got was a gross overly fishy tasting mess. Disgusting in every way as far as flavor is concerned. Not to mention, they added color to this product. The firmness of the row itself was good so you do get a good popping sensation with it and the product is not overly salty at all. I used a plastic (I know I'm cheap) spoon to assure the taste would be unchanged, but it just didn't have the flavor I've had with other discount roes before. So, maybe it's simply you get what you pay for? Maybe I'm being too picky. I don't know. I know this is not superior or expensive stuff but caviar is suppose to only have a HINT of fishy taste. This was like I was eating rotten fish out of the garbage. And though I've never had upper grade caviar before I've had better products than this at similar prices. This was not good at all to me. It was gross. But that was only my experience. Maybe others would like it.

I'm feeling like chewing on salty-stale plastic. I wouldn't recommend this product.
I tried to use a couple of spoons for salad as well. Salad tests really good, but it got original blue color.
