5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining Family Movie January 31, 2012
Format:Amazon Instant Video|Amazon Verified Purchase
I watched this with my 11 yo daughter, 8 yo son and husband and we all loved it. The music was amazing, conveying emotion and developing the characters and story line, while making you want to sing and dance along.

The story was a modernized version of a fairy tale that my daughter and I both love - the main difference being that the princesses have more spunk and control of their fate in this version. The dialogue is quick, funny and meaningful. I also love the lack of vulgar/suggestive innuendos, which are so common now in "children's" films.

My family would love to see this fleshed out - with full animation on a big screen with surround sound. This would be a great addition to our movie and music library (I'd even listen to the soundtrack when my kids aren't with me).

My daughter's downloaded the movie to her iPad and my son has a new favorite word, "nincompoop!"

5.0 out of 5 stars I want to take my kids to see this in the theaters! February 1, 2012

I would love to see this made into a full movie! I clicked on this thinking I might skim through it, and an hour and a half later I just finished the whole thing. Even just this basic storyboard was fantastic enough to make me want to watch. I loved the songs and the story was great.
I have two girls who would go nuts over this movie- dancing and princesses rank among their favorite things. I can see them dancing along to the music.
I hope there is more of this movie soon!

3.0 out of 5 stars Standing in the middle of the road ... March 2, 2012
Format:Amazon Instant Video
Loved: How the farm boy was introduced. Too often the male character just shows up and is never shown for who he is before he helps to save the day. As a mother of a toddler boy I really enjoyed this.

Liked: The modern dancing/music because it helps to bridge my love for this story to my preteen girls' love for the more modern tales.

Disliked: The fairies. They were neither good nor evil ... just shrieking and obnoxious. I also think that more has to happen after the queen dies and the girls want to dance. She was their mother after all.

Hated it: The staff referring to the princesses as tramps for wanting to dance. The word nincompoop ... seriously annoying after one use!

You really should throw in some of the more magical things from the original story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Music, Wonderfully Witty, Kids LOVED it! February 5, 2012
Format:Amazon Instant Video|Amazon Verified Purchase
My kids and I loved Rob Gardner's musical, Blackbeard, so we decided to have a quick look at the storyboard. I thought my children might get bored because it's not animated, but they have now watched the entire movie three times.

They are now begging for the soundtrack, singing the songs, and walking around the house quoting metaphors about cake and frosting, and generally reliving their favorite scenes.

The music is incredible. The score makes a Disney musical animated feature look contrived and mechanical. My kids will not sit through one of the Disney films, but they adore this--even in its rough form. The mixture of humor and wit will keep parents interested, and the scene with Bob and Franc talking about the princesses is priceless.

We absolutely cannot wait to see this as a full-length animated feature. My children rarely want to watch a movie more than once--I can't believe they are requesting to watch the storyboard yet again. My eleven year old has already memorized most of the songs...

It takes a great deal of skill to create something that an entire family can truly enjoy. This is a rare gem!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly surprised by this fun, funny kids movie February 2, 2012
Format:Amazon Instant Video
My husband and I are always looking for light, funny movie to watch when we have time to relax and saw this free test movie so we thought we'd check it out. We were pleasantly surprised by and pleased with our selection. The music is fun and very catchy; I found myself moving my legs to the beat of a few songs while watching and singing some of them the next day. It reminded me of my favorite Disney fairy tale as a kid, Sleeping Beauty, because they are both based on fairy tales and the music is an important part of the story. We enjoyed the characters, especially Franc (with a C) and Bob, which were both really funny. The story and dialog were very good overall. Probably the only real negative was the animation was choppy at times, but I guess this is because it's a "test movie" (not really sure what that means?). We'd enjoy seeing this as a full feature film in the theaters. It would be a really fun 3D movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars No bad February 2, 2012
Format:Amazon Instant Video
This was actually a pretty cute movie for a rough draft. It certainly has potential for at least a direct to video movie. The songs were cute, yet with modern musical scores. I think it would appeal to young children as well as pre teens, even some adults that enjoy animation movies. I think with a little fine-tuning it could really be a hit.

5.0 out of 5 stars A hit! January 30, 2012
Format:Amazon Instant Video
This test movie has all of the makings of a huge hit. It is creative and fun, with appeal for the whole family. The songs are so catchy you find yourself humming them later, and I would definitely be looking to purchase the music. The characters are relatable and interesting. I can just picture the Franc the fairy talking fortune doll and the lego fantasy world. I would love to see this become a feature film!
