A hands on approach for hands off,
By Daniel Haran (Louisville, KY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The 12 Spiritual Laws of Recovery: and Meditations for the 12-Step Program (Paperback)
Not only informative, but a hands on approach using meditations that actually do work, if you work them. I never could get into the 12 Step Program because I had a fear that I couldn't get out and it would just become another adiction. But by learning about the Spiritual Laws behind the program and using the meditations, I just found myself not wanting to do drugs anymore...I don't know how, but it seemed to work, and that's all I need to know.

The 12 Spiritual Laws of Recovery and Meditations for The 12,
By
This review is from: The 12 Spiritual Laws of Recovery: and Meditations for the 12-Step Program (Paperback)
A Note from the authors: We hope you enjoy our book as much as we enjoyed writing it. When I walked away from drugs, I did it through meditation. But I did more than walk away from drug addiction, I walked away from being labeled a "recovering addict". Most recovering addicts go from one meeting or therapy to another, not realizing they are just rearranging the furniture in their cell to make themselves more comfortable. But the comfort never lasts, and soon they begin to feel imprisoned again. There's a way to break free, if you're ready, so the real question is, "Are you ready?". If you are, then try these meditations and experience the Spiritual Laws for yourself. When you experience deep meditation and become present in the here & now, you'll be surprised who you find there...Take care, Rahasya Poe

Embracing Addiction,
By Bill Tucker "Bill Tucker" (Taos, New Mexico) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The 12 Spiritual Laws of Recovery: and Meditations for the 12-Step Program (Paperback)
A friend of mine told me about this book so I bought it because of my nephew who was going through some tough times with meth. Nothing was working until I gave him this book, but I had to really work with him to do the meditations. By doing the meditations with him it actually helped me through some things I was going through. The influence of Western Bioenergetic and somatic therapies are very clear. Nice book but much like a cook book, if you don't do the meditations you will miss out on an interesting experience. His wife Dhara wrote the meditations and I found her website at [..]/dhara if you're interested.
If you really want to take the plunge though into finding out where seeking the truth can take you, read Rahasya's other book called "To Believe Or Not To Believe: The Social and Neurological Consequences of Belief Systems" it is well worth the time to read that book a few times.
